CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO . 74 - ~.~ <br />BY : /tee.. v~~..~r <br />A RESOLUTION OF INTENT ON THE PART OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO MAKE PARTICIPATING <br />FUNDS AVAILABLE FOR A FEDERAL GRANT FOR THE <br />PURCHASE OF BUSES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council adopted Resolution No. 74-14 on February 5, <br />1974, authorizing the Mayor to make application to the United States <br />Department of Transportation for a grant for the purchase of new <br />buses for the Municipal Bus Line, and <br />WHEREAS, the application has been made and is now under review <br />and, as a part of the application process, it is necessary for the <br />City to commit funds on a participating basis to the extent of <br />Twenty Percent (20/) of the grant; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COU'N'T'Y' OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: The Council does hereby commit the City of North <br />Olmsted to participate with the United States Department of Transpor- <br />tation in the grant of funds for the purchase of new buses to the <br />extent of Twenty Percent (20/) of the grant or approximately Two <br />Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars ($220,000.00). Said amount will be <br />provided out of the general fund or through issuance of councilmanic <br />bonds . <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council is hereby directed to <br />forward a copy of this resolution to the agency processing the <br />application for the subject grant. <br />SECTION 3: That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that <br />it is immediately necessary to retire older buses and place new buses <br />in service so as to continue to provide the needed transportation to <br />the citizens of North Olmsted, and further provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it <br />shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. !` <br />PASSED • - ~ `~` <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />NORA T.
