~„_ . <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 74 - <br />BY: Mr. Limpert <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION <br />TO BE PAID TO THE FULL TIME CLERK OF COUNCIL, <br />REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 73-72 ENACTED JULY 16, <br />1973, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Council is aware that the population growth of the <br />City of North Olmsted has imposed more duties upon the Clerk of <br />Council, thereby requiring more time to be expended in order to <br />officially carry out the duties of the Clerk of Council, and <br />WHEREAS, Council is aware that it will be necessary to increase <br />the compensation of the Clerk of Council as well as establishing the <br />position of Clerk of Council as a full time job; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the position of the Clerk of Council for the <br />Council of the City of North Olmsted is hereby declared to be a full <br />time position and effective January 1, 1974, the compensation to be <br />paid to the said Clerk of Council shall be between the sum of Five <br />Thousand Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($5,350.00) to Nine Thousand <br />Dollars ($9,000.00) annually. <br />SECTION 2: That the Director of Finance be and is hereby <br />directed and authorized to pay to the Clerk of Council a sum which <br />shall be established by the Council of the City of North Olmsted <br />between Five Thousand Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($5,350.00) to <br />Nine Thousand Dollars ($9,000.00) annually, in bi-weekly installments <br />for the services performed by said Clerk of Council, which shall <br />include those services required to be performed by the members of <br />Council, under the Charter of the City, and for those services as <br />shall from time to time be determined to be necessary to be performed <br />and which shall be determined by Council, and shall include the neces- <br />sity of preparing a list of names and addresses of all property owners <br />to be assessed for any assessment proceedings determined to be neces- <br />sary by Council, and the names and addresses of such owners of land <br />as are necessary for the services of all notices required by law to <br />be made in perfecting assessments for improvements authorized by <br />Council. <br />SECTION 3: That the Clerk of Council shall receive as a lon- <br />gevity increment, the sum of Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00) for each <br />and every year said Clerk of Council has been continually employed <br />by the City of North Olmsted. This sum is to be paid in a lump sum <br />on anniversary date of employment. <br />SECTION 4: That the City of North Olmsted shall pay for the <br />Clerk of Council the full amount of Blue Cross Hospitalization and <br />Medical Mutual, or with the Kaiser Community Health Foundation Plan, <br />but in no event to exceed a total amount of Six Hundred Fifty Dollars <br />and Sixty-four Cents ($650.64). <br />'SEC'TION' 5: That the full time Clerk of Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted shall receive the following holidays off unless required <br />to work by Council or the Mayor in emergencies: New Year's Day, <br />Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day; Christmas <br />Day; Presidents' Day, and the employee's birthday. <br />SECTION 6: That the full time Clerk of Council shall be entitled <br />to an annual vacation to coincide with Council's vacation. <br />
