CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINAI~TCE NO. 74 - 66 <br />BY• <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL MAP <br />AND FILE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO PROVIDE <br />FOR THE INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGNS AT THE "T" <br />INTERSECTION OF BRENDAIJ LANE AND REED DRIVE, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted that for the purposes of public safety, stop signs <br />should be installed at the "T" intersection of Brendan Lane and <br />Reed Drive by placing a stop sign on the northwesterly corner of <br />Brendan Lane at the point it intersects with Reed Drive, thereby <br />controlling the traffic traveling south on Brendan Lane, and by <br />placing a stop sign on the southeasterly corner of Brendan Lane <br />at the point it intersects with Reed Drive, thereby controlling <br />the traffic traveling north on Brendan Lane, and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the <br />maintenance of a traffic control map, which said map can be amended <br />only by ordinance; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Police Department be and the same is <br />hereby authorized and directed to amend the Traffic Control Map <br />and File of the City of North Olmsted to indicate thereon a stop <br />sign on the northwesterly corner of Brendan Lane at the point it <br />intersects with Reed Drive, and a stop sign on the southeasterly <br />corner of Brendan Lane at the point it intersects with Reed Drive. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor is hereby authorized to have said <br />stop signs installed in accordance with the provisions of this <br />ordinance. <br />SECTION 3: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that <br />it is immediately necessary to insure pedestrian safety, especially <br />children, in the area of St. Brendan's school, and further provided <br />it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED- -- ~~~_ <br />ATTEST: ~ <br />..! <br />NORA T.
