CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 74 - ~~O <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE ®RGANIZATION <br />AND COMPOSITION OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED: ESTABLISHING <br />SALARIES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT WHILE ON DUTY FOR THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED: ESTABLISHING THE PER DIEM <br />ALLOWANCE TO BE PAID TO THE POLICE EMPLOYEES <br />WHILE ATTENDING THE POLICE SCHOOL, AND <br />REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 73-44, ENACTED <br />JUNE 5, 197 3,. AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY . <br />WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of Council has advised Council <br />that it is necessary to increase the salaries and compensations <br />of the members of the Police Department. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Organizational Chart for the Police <br />Department of the City of North Olmsted (Chapter 139, Section 139.02 <br />"Composition and Classifications" of the North Olmsted Codified <br />Ordinances) shall read as follows: <br />A, The Organizational Chart for the Police Department and the <br />personnel set forth in the Organizational Chart shall consist of the <br />Chif of Police who shall be in charge of the entire Police Department. <br />B. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of, One (1) <br />Secretary, Two (2) Clerks, and other civilian non-police personnel <br />as are authorized, from time to time, by Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted. <br />C. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of the General <br />Duty Uniform Roster, which shall consist of, Two (2) Captains, <br />Three (3) Lieutenants, Four (4) Sergeants, Twenty-Eight (28) Patrolmen, <br />Twenty-Five (25) Auxiliary Police, Fourteen (14) School Guards, and <br />One (1) Police Matron, part-time. <br />D. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of a Detective <br />Bureau consisting of Five (5) of the Police Personnel mentioned in <br />Section 1, C above. One (1) member of the Detective Bureau shall <br />serve as the Juvenile Officer of the North Olmsted Police Department. <br />E. The Police Department as constituted herein shall be classi- <br />fied by the Director of Public Safety, as required by law. <br />Section 2: That retroactive to January 1, 1974, and henceforth, <br />the base salaries of the members of the Police Department are hereby <br />fixed and determined to be as follows: <br />Chief of Police <br />Captains <br />Lieutenants of Police <br />Sergeants <br />$17,579.00 <br />$16,127.00 <br />$14,796.00 <br />$13,574.00 <br />Annually <br />Annually <br />Annually <br />Annually <br />
