<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 74- <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE PUBLIC SERVICE <br />OF COUNCILMAN BERNARD T. SPEEDLING, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, on December 31, 1973, Councilman Bernard T. Speedling competed <br />his terms of office ;and <br />WHEREAS, Councilman Bernard T. Speedling has represented Ward 3 from <br />January 1, 1970 to December 31, 19:73, a period of four (4) years of dedicated <br />service to the residents of his Ward and. also, to the entire City of North Olmsted, <br />using his experience, knowledge and dedication in the performance of his Council- <br />manic duties ;and <br />WHEREAS, Councilman Bernard T. Speedling has served as chairman of the <br />Public Service and Utilities Committee and Transportation Committee of Council ; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Councilman Bernard T. Speedling has served as committee member <br />of the Environmental Control Committee of Council ;and <br />WHEREAS, Councilman Bernard T. Speedling has served as a committee member <br />of all other committees of Council ;and <br />WHEREAS, during his terms of office Councilman Bernard T. Speedling gave <br />unstintingly of his time never shirking his duty eventhough, oftentimes, the duty <br />was one which required tact and patience and required him to take many contro- <br />versial positions ;and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the members of this Council to express their <br />opinion that the contributions of Bernard T. Speedling be recognized with sincere <br />gratitude by the citizens of the City of North Olmsted, by the Administration and <br />by all of the Officials of the City of North Olmsted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of North <br />Olmsted, State of Ohio : <br />Section 1. That the minutes of this Council show the gratitude and appreciation <br />of the citizens of the City of North Olmsted, its Administrative Offieers and the <br />members of this Council to Bernard T. Speedling for his four (4) years of devoted <br />public service to the City of North Olmsted. <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby directed to for- <br />ward acopy of this Resolution to Councilman Bernard T. Speedling ,after it has <br />been passed by this Council and duly executed. <br />Section 3. That this Resolution is hereby decYared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, safety, health and <br />welfare of the City. WHEREFORE, this Resolution shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage, otherwise, at the earliest date permitted by law... <br />PASSED: ~~ <br />ATTEST: ,~ <br />Nora T.
