CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />ORDINANCE NO . 7 5 - .Z .3,~ <br />B Y : _~L,w- ~ , <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF <br />PUBLIC SERVICE TO PURCHASE A VACUUM PUMP <br />TO BE USED IN THE SLUDGE PROCESSING <br />FACILITIES AT THE TREATMENT PLANT IN THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED WITHOUT PUBLIC BIDDING <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Director of Public <br />Service that a vacuum pump in the Sewage Treatment Plant is in dire <br />need of replacement, and <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined said vacuum pump is supplied <br />by one company, namely Nash Engineering Company, and <br />WHEREAS, the product is unique and it is not feasible to ob- <br />tain a competitive bid both because of the nature of the product and <br />the immediate danger of failure of the existing pump, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the <br />Director of Public Service to purchase said equipment without public <br />bidding ; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service is hereby <br />authorized to enter into an agreement with Nash Engineering Company <br />for the purchase of a Nash Vacuum Pump Size CL-702 for the approximate <br />cost of $4,000.00. <br />SECTION 2: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that it <br />is immediately necessary to replace the existing deficient pump <br />presently being used at the Sewage Treatment Plant, and further pro- <br />vided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />Passed: //~,r~~~'"'` <br />Attest: /~ ~ <br />~~~ <<~,.,a.-.-,..-e.~,,.~ l.J ~ .a.~..J~-mil <br />NORA T.
