CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 75-207 <br />BY: M~, Wilamosky <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE <br />OF OHIO TO TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS IN RELIEVING <br />THE INf~ONVENIENCE AT LOCAL OFFICES OF THE DRIVER'S <br />LICENSE BUREAUS, AS WELL AS THE MODERNIZATION OF <br />THE METHOD OF DISTRIBUTION OF MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSE <br />PLATES. <br />WHEREAS,. local license bureaus are only open until 4;30 p.m, weekly, <br />and have only two offices open in this locality on Saturday from g a.m. until <br />1 p.m.; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is inconvenient for a working person to accomodate them- <br />self to these hours during the week; and, <br />WHEREAS, the paucity of the number of offices open on Saturday; the <br />minimum staffing of said offices; and the short hours makes it inconvenient <br />for the public to transact business on Saturday; and, <br />WHEREAS, the method of selling and distributing license plates for <br />motor vehicles,and trailers, is archaic and inefficient and should be <br />modernized so as to permit the purchase of the aforesaid from a central- <br />ized location by mail order; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That this Council call upon Governor James Rhodes to <br />address himself to the problem of poor service to the public and direct <br />the Driver's License Bureaus to make suitable adjustments of their hours <br />by remaining open one night a week and remaining open longer on Saturday <br />so that the citizens of the State-.may be more adequately serviced. <br />SECTION 2: That this Council urge Governor James Rhodes to modernize <br />the method of selling and distributing license plates for motor vehicles, <br />and trailers by permitting the purchase of the aforesaid from a centralized <br />location by mail order. <br />SECTION That this resolution shall take effect and be in force <br />from and after the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: ~f, /'~7•~ <br />ATTEST: <br />~i~.t./ /. ~ , <br />NORA T.
