~„ <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 75 -~~ <br />IIY : L%~. ~.c...~ <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL MAP <br />AND FILE WITH THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO <br />PROVIDE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF "NO RIGHT TURN <br />ON RED" SIGNS AT THE INTERSECTION OF LORAIN ROAD <br />AND PORTER ROAD AND BUTTERNUT RIDGE ROAD AND <br />PORTER ROAD, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by Council that for <br />the purposes of public safety with respect to school children <br />crossing the area of Porter and Lorain Roads and Butternut <br />Ridge .Road it will be necessary to prohibit drivers of <br />motor vehicles from turning right on red; and, <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for <br />the maintenance of a Traffic Control Map, which said Map <br />can be amended only by ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Police Department be and the same <br />is hereby authorized and directed to amend the Traffic Control <br />Map and file with the City of North Olmsted to indicate thereon <br />"No Right. Turn on Red" signs at the following locations: <br />Lorain Road at Porter Road controlling traffic <br />driving in an easterly direction on Lorain Road, and <br />Butternut Ridge Road at the intersection of Porter <br />Road controlling traffic driving in a westerly <br />direction on Butternut Ridge Road. <br />SECTIOTJ 2: That the Mayor is hereby authorized to have <br />said "Tdo Right Turn on Red" signs installed in accordance with <br />the provisions of this ordinance. <br />SECTION 3: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be <br />an emergency measure immediately necessary-for the preservation <br />of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further <br />reason that it is immediately necessary to protect school <br />children who will be returning to school September 3, 1975, <br />and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED : ~~ 1f"'.~,/.•,, ,7 / 9,7~ <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />NORA T.
