CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />E~ ~ <br />BY: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 75 -! / <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO MAKE <br />APPLICATION FOR PARTICIPATION IN $53$,000.00 <br />BLOCK GRANT UNDER THE STATE OF OHIO'S GRANT <br />PROGRAM RELATIVE TO THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of this Council that <br />additional funds are available through the State of Ohio by virtue <br />of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is the further understanding of this Council that <br />the amount of additional funds set aside for applicants within the <br />County of Cuyahoga, Lorain, Medina and Lake, amounts to $538,000.00; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to make application <br />for funds for the purpose of providing culverts for the containment <br />and channeling of storm water in the Blossom Edge Park area, the <br />Noreen Drive area, and/or improving the storm water drainage system <br />throughout the City of North Olmsted; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, directed to <br />file an application either directly with the U. S. Department of <br />Housing and Urban Development or with the State of Ohio for parti- <br />cipation in funds allocated for various counties under the Housing <br />and Community Development Act of 1974 for the purpose of providing <br />culverts in the Blossom Edge Park area, the Noreen Drive area, and/or <br />for the improvement of the storm water drainage system throughout <br />the City of North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 2: That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of public <br />peace, health, safety, and welfare, and for the further reason that <br />the areas mentioned in this resolution are in dire need of a storm <br />water control program, and further provided it receives the affir- <br />mative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval <br />by the Mayor. <br />PASSED : ,~„ lt,~. ~~' ~f <br />ATTEST: <br />~~"~~.-/ ."~ try' , <br />NORA T.
