CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 75 - ~~D <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SERVICE DIRECTOR <br />OF THE CITY OF NOR~?H OLMSTED TO FILE THE NECESSARY <br />APPLICATION UNDER THE LOCAL PUBLIC WORK5 CAPITAL <br />DEVELOPMENT AND INVESTMENT ACT OF 1975, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the House of Representatives of the United States has <br />passed house bill 5247, entitled Local Public Works Capital Develop- <br />ment and Investment Act of 1975; and the matter is presently pending <br />before the United States Senate and will be voted upon on July 19, <br />1975, and if passed will be presented to the President of the United <br />States shortly thereafter; and, <br />WHEREAS, said Act provides for the allocation of Five Billion <br />Dollars to be used in One Hundred Percent (100%) funding for munici- <br />palities of qualified public works proposals; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of North O]_msted is in dire need of a Service <br />Garage and Maintenance Center; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to be in a position <br />to file an application for said funds if and when the act is finally <br />approved full well realizing that the funds are on a first-come <br />basis; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service, in '.the event <br />the Local Public Works Capital Development and Investment Act of <br />1975 is approved, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to <br />prepare all necessary applications, documents, and to undertake <br />whatever steps are necessary for applying for One Hundred Percent <br />(100%) funding for the construction of a Service Garage and Main- <br />tenance Center. <br />SECTION 2: That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure, immediately necessary for the preservation of <br />the public peace, health, and safety of the City, and for the further <br />reason that the City of North Olmsted is in dire need of a Service <br />Garage and Maintenance Center, and further provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, <br />it shall take effect and be in £~rce immediately upon its passage <br />and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: ,~„g~, /9,~ <br />ATTEST: <br />~~ ~ / iLc.CJ~- <br />NORA T.
