SECTION 3: That excluding secretarial and clerical employees, all full-time employees of the Engineering Department having completed five (5) years of full-time continuous service, as employees of said department, shall be paid an additional 3% of their base annual salary, thereafter until completion of ten (10) years of .full-~tme continuous service, after which such employee shall receive ~% of their base annual salary, thereafter until completion of their fifteenth (15th) year of continuous full-time service, after which said employee shall receive 5% of their base annual salary until eoinpletbn of their twentieth (20th) year of continuous full-time service, and thereafter each year of full-time service thereafter they shall receive ~i% of their base annual salary as longevity increments. SECTION 4: That all full-time employees of the Engineering Department,: with the exception of secretaries and clerks, shall receive the following holidays off, unless requested to work by the Mayor in emergencies: New Year's Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day; Christmas Day; Presid.ent's Day; and the employee's birthday. SECTION 5: That all full-time employees of the Engineering Department shall be entitled to an annual vacation in accordance with the following schedule: Two (2) weeks vacation after one (1) year full-time service Three (3) weeks vacation after seven (7) years full-time service Four (4) weeks vacation after fifteen (15) years full-time service. SECTION 6: That: the Clerk of Council is hereby directed to forward a copy of this ordinance to the Director or Finance in order that the Director of Finance can pay the compensation as hereinabove set forth. SECTION 7: That all other ordinances or resolutions, or parts of ordinances or parts of resolutions, inconsistent herewith to the provisions of this ordinance, and especially Ordinance 74-98 enacted July 2, 1974, are hereby repealed with the effective date of this ordinance. SECTION 8: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare, and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to review all pay scales and bring them into line due to inflation and cost of living increases, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
