An ordinance authorizing <br />the retention of the resident inspec~n (mechanical) L.K. I~kLQan to assist <br />in the supervision of the final installation of mechanical equipment in the <br />Sanitary Sewage Treatment plat and declaring an emergency. It was moved by <br />Mr. Christman, seconded by Mr. Caster, that the statutory rule be suspended and <br />the ordinance be read immediate],y the second and third times artd put on its <br />passage. The affirmative vote on said motion was as follows: Caster, Christman, <br />Lampert, Mangsni, Nicholas, OtNeill~ Porter. Thereupon the ordinance was read <br />the second and third tunes and put upon its passage and the affirmative vot® <br />thereon was as follows: Caster, Christman, Lampert, Mangani, l~ichalas, ~, <br />Porter. nNay'r O~Reill <br />Mr. Porter moved, second®d by i~4r. Chr3atmari, that the So13.citor be directed to <br />prepare legislation authorizing the Service Director to have the Et~ineer prepare <br />plans and specifications for constructing sidewalks on the east side of N• Porter; <br />west side of Dover Rd. when additional right of way is acquired; east side of <br />N. Barton; west side of Walter Rd,; west side of S,. Barton if a cut thru can <br />be obtained from some place on S. Barton to Chest, School property. TMYeas" <br />Caster, Christman, Limpert~ Mangani, Nicholas, O~Neill~ Porter. <br />The Safety Director advised Council that residents of McKenzie Rd. are concerned <br />with the lack of sidewalks on that street. The Streets, Sewers, Sidewalks, and <br />Ditches and Saf®ty Committees are to check into this matter. <br />Mr. Caster moved, seconded by Mr. Porter, that the Solicitor be directed to <br />prepare legislation authorizing the Service Director to have installed 5 new <br />lights on Decker Road and 11 new lights on Coe Avenue. eYease Caster, Christman, <br />Lampert, Mangani, Nicholas, OiD1ei11, Porter. <br />Mr. Lampert moved, seconded by Mr. Mangani~ that the Solicitor be directed to <br />prepare legislation that Ward boundaries stay the same as they are at the <br />presexYt time. This is in accordance with Charter Rules that within ninety days after <br />a census report Council is to determine Ward boundaries. <br />The recommendation of the Pl.arming Commission concerning the Industrial Area <br />is to be considered by a committee of Covncil as a whole at a meeting Feb. 1l~,1961 <br />at 8 P.M. <br />The recommendation of the Planning Commission concerning the rezonang of Lorain <br />Road is also bo be considred by a committee of Council as a whole at the above <br />mentioned meeting. <br />Mr. Mar~ani reported on the Libby Lee and Verady subdivisions and the Plats <br />Committee and the Solicitor are to study this matter further. <br />The Clerk read a letter from Mr. John D. Kennedy, 25030 Rainbow Drive, requesting <br />that Council not assess residents of Rainbow Drive for the surer because it will <br />be impossible to supply sewer facilities to them. This letter was turned over <br />to Mr. Gerlach to check. <br />Mr. Cater reported on the Community Council and advised that~iiomecoming" is to <br />be August 25, 2~, and Z7. <br />Mr. Christman presented petitions from resi~nts in the area of the Claque Road <br />Playground requesting the City make physical improvements to the Claque Road <br />Playground to make that playground at least the equal in facilities and equipment <br />to the North Olmsted, Park. These petitions were tabled until the next regular <br />meeting of Council eri~en Mr. R. Slater, Chairman of the Recreation Committee <br />can meet and discuss this request with Counncil. <br />The Service Director advised that Floyd Browne has reconsidered their recommendation <br />of the use ~ concrete asbestos pipe for service connections and now recommend <br />that vitrified pipe be used. The 5ervi.ce Director concurs with this recommendation. <br />Mr. Christman moved, seconded by Mr. Mangani, that Floyd Browne~s r ecomraendataon <br />to use vitrified pipe for service connections be accepted.
