MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
<br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
<br />HELD SEPTEMBER 2, 1958 AT 8:00 P.M.
<br />Pursuant to the call of the Mayor, a Special Meeting of the Council
<br />of the City of North Olmsted was held September 2nd at the North
<br />Olmsted City Hall at 8:00 P.M. Said meeting was called for the purpose
<br />of undertaking the adoption of necessary legislation of an emergency
<br />nature in connection with the paving of State Route No. 10 in conjunction
<br />with the State Department of Highways, County of Cuyahoga, and the
<br />United States Government; and, further, for the purpose of considering
<br />the status of Irwin Bidwell, Superintendent of Maintenance of the North
<br />Olmsted Municipal Bus Line.
<br />Present were Paul J. Gareau, Mayor; Ralph A. Hazelton, President of
<br />Council, Eddie Hixson, Wm. H. Kramer, Mary Alice Lynch, Bruce MacDonald,
<br />Francis O~Neill, James Wilson, Lloyd E. Barnes, Service Director; and
<br />Carl F. Haettich, Safety Director. James Hinkel was absent.
<br />Also present were E. M. Christman, Clerk; Alice Dobbins, Treasurer;
<br />and Alex Kanareff, Engineer. C. J. Oviatt, Solicitor, was absent.
<br />Ordinance No. 2739 was introduced by Mr. MacDonald. An ordinance
<br />authorizing the appropriation of X22,000.00 for the permanent improve-
<br />ment of Lorain Road in accordance with the plans and specifications
<br />submitted for the proposed improvement by the State of Ohio, Department
<br />of Highways, and declaring an emergency. It was moved by Mr. MacDonald,
<br />seconded by Mr. Kramer, that the statutory rule be suspended and the
<br />ordinance be read immediately the second and third times and put on its
<br />passage. The affirmative vote thereon was as follows: Hixson, Kramer,
<br />Lynch, MacDonald, O~Neill, Wilson. Thereupon, the ordinance was read
<br />the second and third times and put on its passage and the affirmative
<br />vote thereon was as follows: Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O~Neill,
<br />Wilson.
<br />Resolution No. 2740 was introduced by Mr. Kramer. A resolution requesting
<br />the City Auditor to furnish a Certificate as to available funds for the
<br />repaving and improvement of Lorain Road from Lorain County Line easterly
<br />to the easterly line of the City of North Olmsted, and declaring an
<br />emergency. It was moved by Mr. Kramex, seconded by Mr. Wilson, that
<br />the statutory rule be suspended and the resolution be read immediately
<br />the second and third times and put on its passage. The affirmative
<br />vote thereon was as follows: Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O~Neill,
<br />Wilson. Thereupon, the resolution was xead the second and third times
<br />and put on its passage and the affirmative vote thereon was as follows:

<br />Resolution No. 2741 was introduced by Mr. MacDonald. A final resolution
<br />adopting the plans, proposing to cooperate, and requesting the Director
<br />to proceed. It was moved by Mr. MacDonald, seconded by Mr. Kramer,
<br />that the statutory rule be suspended and the resolution be read im-
<br />mediately the second and third times and put on its passage. The
<br />affirmative vote thereon was as follows: Hixson, Kramer, Lynch,
<br />MacDonald, O~Neil1, Wilson. Thereupon, the resolution was read the
<br />second and third times and put on its passage and the affirmative vote
<br />thereon was as follows: Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O~Neill,
<br />Wilson.
<br />Resolution No. 2742 was introduced by Mr. Kramer. A resolution trans-
<br />ferring appropriations. It was moved by Mr. Kramer, seconded by Mr.
<br />Wilson, that the statutory rule be suspended and the resolution be read
<br />the second and third times and put on its passage. The affirmative vote
<br />thereon was as follows: Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O~Neill,
<br />Wilson. Thereupon, the resolution was read the second and third times
<br />and put on its passage and the affirmative vote thereon was as follows:
