<br />MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF
<br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO - 8:20 P.M.
<br />Present were Paul J. Gareau, Mayor; Ralph A. Hazelton, President of Council;
<br />James Hinkel, Eddie Hixson, Mary Alice Lynch, Bruce MacDonald, Francis O'Neill,
<br />James Wilson, Lloyd E. Barnes, Service Director, and Carl F. Haettich, Safety
<br />Director.
<br />Also present were C. J. Oviatt, Solicitor; E. M. Christman, Clerk, and Alice
<br />Dobbins, Treasurer.
<br />Mr. Trkn. H. Kramer, and Everett Dean, Engineer, were absent.
<br />Resolution No. 2693 was introduced by Mr. Hinkel. A resolution authorizing
<br />the Service Director to advertise for bids for the purchase by the City of
<br />North Olmsted of a tractor with loader and digger attachments, not to exceed
<br />the total cost for said tractor and attachments of X6,500.00, and declaring
<br />an emergency. It was moved by Mr. Hinkel, seconded by Mrs. Lynch, that the
<br />statutory rule be suspended and the resolution be read immediately the second
<br />and third times and put on its passage. The affirmative vote on said motion
<br />was as follows: Hinkel, Hixson, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson, Thereupon,
<br />the resolution was read the second and third times and put upon its passage
<br />and the affirmative vote thereon was as follows: Hinkel, Hixson, Lynch, MacDonald,
<br />O'Neill, Wilson.
<br />Resolution No. 2694 was introduced by Mr. Hixson. A resolution authorizing
<br />the Safety Director and Service Director to advertise for bids for uniforms
<br />for the Police and Fire Department and operators of busses of the Municipal
<br />Coach Line of the City of North 0]msted, and declaring an emergency. It was
<br />moved by Mr. Hixson, seconded by Mr. O'Neill, that the statutory rule be
<br />suspended and the resolution be read immediately the second and third times
<br />and put on its passage. The affirmative vote on said motion was as follows:
<br />Hinkel, Hixson, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson. Thereupon, the resolution
<br />was read the second and third times and put upon its passage and the affirmative
<br />vote thereon eras as follows: Hinkel, Hixson, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson.
<br />Resolution No. 2695 was introduced by Mr. Wilson. A resolution authorizing
<br />the Safety Director to purchase from the Auditor of Cuyahoga County, Plat
<br />Books for the City of North Olmsted and providing for the maintenance of
<br />current map and name sheets, and declaring an emergency. It was moved by Mr.
<br />Wilson, seconded by Mr. MacDonald, teat the statutory rule be suspended and
<br />the resolution be read immediately the second and third times and put on its
<br />passage. The affirmative vote on said motion was as follows: Hinkel, Hixson,
<br />Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson. Thereupon, the resolution was read the
<br />second and third times and put upon its passage and the affirmative vote
<br />thereupon was as follows: Hinkel, Hixson, Lynch, MaeDona.ld, O'Neill, Wilson.
<br />Resolution No. 2696 was introduced by Mr. Wilson. A resolution declaring the
<br />amount of taxes that may be raised by levy at the max;m~ rate authorized by
<br />law without a vote of the electors to be insufficient and declaring the necessity
<br />of a levy in excess of such rate, It was moved by Mr. Wilson, seconded by Mr.
<br />Hixson, that the statutory rule be suspended and the resolution be read immedi-
<br />ately the second and third times and put on its passage. The affirmative vote
<br />on said motion was as follows: Hinkel, Hixson, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill,
<br />Wilson. Thereupon, the resolution was read the second and third times and
<br />put upon its passage and the affirmative vote thereon was as follows: Hinkel,
<br />Hixson, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson.
<br />Resolution No. 2697 was introduced by Mr. Hixson. A resolution of congratula-
<br />tions honoring Rosa Geiger Danford on her 90th Birthday occurring May 31, 1958.
<br />It was moved by Mr. Hixson, seconded by Mr. Wilson, that the resolution be
<br />adopted as read, and the affirmative vote thereon was as follows: "Yeas"
<br />Hinkel, Hixson, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson.
<br />Ordinance No. 2689, adopting the Rules of Order governing the Council of the
<br />City of North Olmsted, was given its second reading.
<br />Resolution No. 2691, authorizing the Safety Director to appoint one regular
<br />full-time Patrolman to the Police Department, was given its second reading.
<br />It was moved by Mr. Hinkel, seconded by Mr. Wilson, that the statutory rules
