APRIL 22, 1958 <br />MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MF,ETING OF THE COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTEp, OHIO <br />8:11 P.M. <br />Present were Paul J, Gareau, Mayor; Ralph A. Hazelton, President of <br />Council;, James Hinkel, Eddie Hixson, Wm. H. Kramer, Mary Alice Lynch, <br />Bruce MacDonald, Francis O'Neill, James Wilson and Lloyd E. Barnes, Service <br />Director, and Carl F. Haettich, Safety Director. <br />Also present were C. J. Oviatt, Solicitor; E. Ni. Christman, Clerk;, and <br />Everett Dean, Engineer; and Alice Dobbins, Treasurer. <br />A motion was made by Mr. MacDonald, seconded by Mrs. Lynch, that Mr. <br />Drane be allowed thirty minutes to explain the Codification of Ordinances. <br />"Yeas" Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson. <br />Mr. Drane explained the advantages of having the ordinances codified and <br />brought up-to-date and cross-indexed. Cost f~ - 5 thousand dollars. <br />Mr. Oviatt stated that the Mayor or Service Director makes the appointment <br />of an Engineer and Council then defines the fees, compensation and duties. <br />Mr. William Skellinger, Westchester Drive, wanted to know if we have the <br />Rules of the Ohio Professional Engineers. <br />Mr. Patrick Gareau suggested that arrangement be made to prevent the City <br />Engineer from representing the City and the developer at the same time. <br />Mr. Cary Nettles of Elm Road, a Registered Engineer, stated that we have <br />at least a dozen registered engineers living in North Olmsted and anyone <br />of them would be glad to confer with Council if they could be of any help. <br />It was moved by Mr. Wi s~$2~ econded by Mr. O'Neill, that the matter of <br />the Engineers duties/dl~~~pensation etc. be referred to Council as a whole <br />with Mr. O~Neill to head the Committee. President of Council appointeofMtheOCot~eehairman <br />The Auditor advised that by billing the residents of Fitch Road, X7,050.00 <br />was paid out of the X23,300.00 cost or 30.26. <br />The Solicitor states]. thAtthe DeLong Trucking Company had been contacted and <br />he negotiated through their counsel to settle the bill for X300.00; X100.00 <br />of which he presented to the Treasurer, the other to come i.n monthly install- <br />ments. <br />The meeting adjourned to the call of the Clerk at 9;50 P.M. <br />.
