<br />A communication was read from Patrick Gareau, Safety Director, stating his
<br />desire to serve without compensation for the duration of his terffi as Director
<br />of Public Safety. If this is not legally possible, he requested such compensa-
<br />tion be equally divided and distributed to the Police Department for laboratory
<br />purposes and the Recreation Department for sports' equipment.
<br />Mrs. Lynch reported Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company has installed a
<br />total of 532 street lights to date in the City of North Olmsted.
<br />Mr. Kitson from the audience stated that after reading an article in the News,
<br />he wanted to know if the Administration was going to abandon the sewerage
<br />system, and that this program should be p~:rsued on sewers for the City or
<br />the City would be in trouble with the State Pollution Board.
<br />The Mayor stated consideration should be given to the Regional Planning
<br />Commission's County Wide Water & Sewer System Program due February 1$th.
<br />Ordinance No. 2634 was introduced by Mr. Kramer. An ordinance amending
<br />Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2516 entitled, "An ordinance to determine vacation
<br />periods for officers and regular members of the Fire Department enacted July
<br />lb, 1957 and declaring an emergency". It was moved by Mr, Kramer, seconded
<br />by Mr. Wilson, that the statutory rule be suspended and the ordinance be read
<br />immediately the second and third times and put on its passage. The affirma-
<br />tive vote on said motion was as follows: Hinkel, Hinson, Kramer, Lynch,
<br />MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson. Thereupon, the ordinance was read the second and
<br />third times and put upon its passage and the affirmative vote thereon was as
<br />follows: Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson.
<br />Ordinance No. 2635 was introduced by Mr. MacDonald. An ordinance amending
<br />Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2517 entitled, "An ordinance to determine vacation
<br />periods for officers and regular members of the Police Department enacted
<br />July 16, 1957 and declaring an emergency". It was moved by Mr. MacDonald,
<br />seconded by Mrs. Lynch, that the statutory rule be suspended and the ordinance
<br />be read f~mmediately the second and third times and put on its passage. The
<br />affirmative vote on said motion was as follows; Hinkel, Hix$on, Kramer,
<br />Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson. Thereupon, the ordinance was read the
<br />second and third times and put upon its passage and the affirmative vote
<br />thereon was as follows: Hinkel, Hinson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill,
<br />Wilson.
<br />Resolution No. 2636 was introduced by Mr. Hinkel. A resolution in memory
<br />of Fred (Fritz) Limpert, Bus Operator, who passed away January 2$, 195$.
<br />It was moved by Mr. Hinkel, seconded by Mr. MacDonald, the resolution be
<br />adopted as read. "Yeas" Hinkel, Hinson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill,
<br />Wilson.
<br />The Engineer's estimate for sidewalks, Lucille Drive is #4,350.00, or X3.62$
<br />per foot. It was moved by Mr. MacDonald, seconded by Mr. Kramer, that the
<br />Solicitor be directed to prepare the necessary legislation on Lucille Drive
<br />sidewalks. "Yeas" Hinkel, Hinson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson.
<br />It was moved by Mr. MacDonald, seconded by Mr. O'Neill, that a resolution
<br />of commendation for certain members of the Police Department be drawn up.

<br />Resolution No. 2637 was introduced by Mr. Kramer. A resolution appointing
<br />an assistant to the Clerk of the City for the purpose of making service of
<br />notices, (Lucille Drive Sidewalks). It was moved by Mr. Kramer, seconded
<br />by Mr. Hinson, that the statutory rule be suspended and the resolution be
<br />read immediately the second and third times and put on its passage. The
<br />affirmative vote on said motion was as follows: Hinkel, Hinson, Kramer,
<br />Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson. Thereupon, the resolution was read the
<br />second and third times and put upon its passage and the affirmative vote
<br />thereon was as follows: Hinkel, Hinson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill,
<br />Wilson.
<br />The Clerk therefore appointed Wrm. F. Andrews to serve the notices.
