<br />Ordinance No. 64-65 was introduced by Mr, West. An Ordinance authorizing the Mayor
<br />to enter into a contract with Walter H. Drane Company for the purposes of bringing
<br />the codified ordinances of the City of North Olmsted up to date and in con£ormance
<br />with the statutes of the State of Ohio, and declaring an emergency. It was moved by
<br />Mr. West, seconded by Mr. Van Zandt, that the statutory rule be suspended and the
<br />ordinance be read immediately the second and third times and put on its passage.

<br />Ordinance No. 64-66 was introduced by Mrs, Hodgins, and given its first reading
<br />only. An Ordinance amending the Traffic Co:ntrol Map and Traffic Control file by
<br />designating on the map a No Parking zone on a portion of Lorain Road, and declaring
<br />an emergency.
<br />In answer to a question from Mr, Van Zandt ;abaut progress being made in placTng of
<br />a civic organization sign at the approaches to the city, Mayor Christman reported
<br />receipt of a letter from Community Council -that they are working on this. The Mayor
<br />asked for a sketch of the proposed sign, and then consideration will be given to
<br />erecting it,
<br />Community Council also proposed that a community bulletin board be erected, in or
<br />near the Great Northern Shopping Center, to be used by all organizations to post
<br />their activities during the week, The City was asked to coordinate. Mayor Christman
<br />asked CouncilA-s consideration under new bus:iness, and the matter was referred to
<br />the Parks, Property and Recreation CommitteE:.
<br />A letter was received f rom the Board of Bduc:ation requesting Council to consider the
<br />advantages of attaching the proposed Municipal Swimming Pool to the High School
<br />building, since the new building was designed with the possible addition of a pool
<br />in mind, and utilities have bean provided for, and provision made for an adequate
<br />boiler capacity, The Legislative Committee was asked to study the request, The
<br />Saimming Pool Committee, Leonard, Limpert and West, is to contact the School Board
<br />and inquire what their plans would be for u;:e of such a pool by the school system,
<br />the Recreation Department, and the Public. The Pool Committee is to work with the
<br />Legislative Committee on this matter.. The F;ngineer was also requested to check with
<br />the architects for the school, as to whether there are plans already prepared for
<br />a future swimming pool at the school.
<br />Mr. Van Zandt moved, seconded by Mr. Caster, that the Safety-Service Director direct
<br />the City Engineer to draw up an ordinance re.lative ta the minimum standards for
<br />private, semi-public and public pools, based on the National Saimming Pool Institute
<br />standards.
<br />The Mayor proclaimed the week of April 5th to April llth as CHAMBER QF COMMERCE WEEK.
<br />The Mayor's recommendation for changing the minimum set-back requirements on Lorain
<br />Road was referred to the Planning Commission.
