MINUTES OF THE MEETIPdG OF THE COUNCIL THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO September 15, 1964 8: 2 3 P., M. Present: Mayor Ralph Christman; PresiLdent of Council, Francis J. 0'Neill; Jack Foltz; Virginia Hodgins; James LE:onard; Dewey Limpert; Alex Mangani; John West, Also present: J. Bruce Kitchen, Director of Law; W. L. Gerlach, Director of Finance; Del Limpert, Safety-Service Director; Richard Labas, City Engineer; Leslie Macs, Chairman, Planning Commi.asion; Margare.t West, Clerk of Council. Absent: Henry Caster. Minutes of the meeti_ng of September l., 1964 were approved as i-ead, Mayor Christiroan reported the Planning Commission is going to recommend that a resolution be directed to the State Highway Department in regard to straighten- ing Columbia Road. The Planning Commission would like to ask that Council at their next meeting be prepared to form a resolution around this request. Safety Service Director Limpert repori:ed that work has been started on Butter- nut Ridge Road. Ditches and 2-foot bei-m are being put in, Engineer Labas reported that water line plans, specifications and estimate nf cost are on file for Barton, Bradley, Mill, Broxbourne and Canterbury, He ? asked that Council ask that a Resolution of Necessity be drawn and the matter was referred to the Public Devebpment Committee. Mr. Labas also reported that Bretton I2idge #1 and #2 improvement plans have been approved. He requests that plans for the Great PJorthern water main be put in commi.ttee.. Mr, Limpert, Chairman of the Transpori;ation Committee, reported that a meeting held September 9, his committee met with the Finance Committee for a discussion of the possibility ofan increase in aalary for the bus mechanics. It was decided to check the caage scale in similar occupations for comparison. They also discussed the possibility for future expansion of the bus garage. Figures were furnished the Finance Committee, and their chairman will repor°t on the recommendation. Mr. West, Chairman of the Finance Committee, reported they met on September 9th. They recommend that a$50 change fund be established for the Finance Directar, and will ask for legislation to be drawn. They also will ask for legislation authorizing the Safety-Service Direetor t.o advertise for bids far a front-end lo+ader to be used in the sanitary land fill area.
