Page 2- April 6, 1965 <br />Safety-Service Director also reported two new buses will be coming off the <br />production line on May 12th, <br />Finance Directdr Gerlaeh reported he had completed the authorized note borrow- <br />ing from Natfonal Gity Bank for the sanitary sewer program, and has purchased <br />Certificates of Deposit with that part of the maney not yet needed, He also <br />reported that a statement on the balance in approprfations for the first three <br />months of 1965 is befng prepared, and will be distributed shortly, <br />Mrs, Hodgins, Ghsirman of the Safety Committee, announced they will meEt next <br />Tuesday, April 13, at 8:00 P,M, <br />Mr, Foltz, Ghairman of the Legislative Committee, reported they met on March <br />17. They recommend that legislation be prepared recommending that the House <br />Un-American Activities Committee be continued in the House of Representatives <br />of the United States, and referred to legislation passed by Lakewood on this <br />subject. <br />After discussion of the request for a study of the feasibflity of retaliatory <br />tax on income tax proposed by the Gity of Cleveland, the Legislative Committee <br />is of the opinfon that this should be held up right now, since induetry in <br />North Olmsted is very close to becoming a reality and an income tax could make <br />a difference. They are also trying to ascertain the amount of money involved <br />in the incomes of people earning their living in North Olmsted. Thfs informa- <br />tion is difficult to get, but they are checking to see how much North Olmsted <br />would benefit by a a6 cfty income tax, compared to Cleveland's, should it go <br />through in Cleveland. <br />There will be a meeting of the Legislative Committee on Thursday, April Sth <br />at 8:00 to discuss the blasting operations, Fire Chief Bement and Assistant <br />Chief DeWerth will be there to offer assistance, <br />Mr,Caster, Chefrman,Industrial Development Committee, reported they have had <br />no meetings, and none are scheduled at present, <br />Mr. Caster, Chairman, Public Service and Development Commfttee, reported that <br />all requirements for passing Ordfnance 65-3 have been met, and it can be <br />passed, <br />The Committee also recommends that the City proceed with Contract 34 in the <br />sanftary sewer programe The resolution of necessfty before Council as No. <br />65-84 can be either put on first reading or on emergency passage, depending <br />on Council's wishes, <br />Mr. Caster reported his committee had discussed the tunnelling on Louis <br />Drive versus an open cut at their meeting on March 22nd, and the Mayor <br />offered to give a synopsis of that meeting. <br />Mayor Christman reported that a problem has arisen in getting the sewer line <br />across the golf course, A change in the line eliminating Louie Drive and going <br />to the nvrth of it is now being studied as far as cost is concerned, with <br />4R <br />I
