Bruce <br />Kitchen, Acting Engineer Michael Karhan. <br />Minutes of October Ist Council Meeting approved as read, <br />M;ayor Christman read a letter he had written to Council concerning the <br />Assessment Equa]ization Board's report on Southern-Midvale-Decker improve- <br />ments. Th6s letter recommended rejection of the reporte The Mayor feels <br />that the City's portion should be at the most one-th6rd of the cost of <br />the improvemento Also that the 90% recommendation of the Board an Midvaie <br />is not clear. He thinks that even though Council would be concluding a <br />problem which has been thorny from the start, they would be submitting an <br />unfair portion of the improvements to the rest of the City. The Mayor <br />also recommended that Council establish a City portion, authorizing the <br />Engineer to revise assessment to reflect this established Cifiy portion, <br />and renotification to property owners involved be madee <br />Mayor Christman said October 27th would be POOL DAY in North Olmsted. <br />Acting City Engineer Karhan said improvement plans for Columbia Land No, 4 <br />and Sandy Ridge 4, 5 and 6 had been received and given to Municipal Devel- <br />opment Committee< <br />Mrso Hodgins, Chairman of Liquor Control Committee, requested that the <br />Law Director and the Building Commissioner attend the hearing in Columbus <br />scheduled for October 17th. <br />Mro Caster, Chabrman of the Municipal Development Committee, reported on <br />Committee's meeting of October 8th, The Equalization Board Report on <br />Southern-Decker-Miduale paving improvement was discussed. The committee <br />recommends that Council accept this reporte They feel Equalization Board <br />has done an aumsrable job considering all aspects of the problem. They <br />also discussed Sanitary Sewer Contract 12 objections and Dover Road Side- <br />walk objection, There are two pieces of legislation tonight appointing <br />Jim Davis, Don Ledvina and Fred Biszantz to serve on two Equalization <br />Boards the noght of Sep.tewh- 29th, one at 8:00 and the other at 8:30 p.m. <br />aGT, <br />Mr, Eian, Chairman Safety, Health & Welfare Committee, said this Committee <br />had met at the Sportman's Club, October 9th, together with Mayar Christman <br />and President of Council 0'Neill and club members to review and obtain <br />expressions from members of the Sportman's Club group regarding gun legis- <br />latione The gereral gist of ineeting was that this group is not in favor of <br />gun law, but is in favor of stiff penalties for illegal use of guns. <br />Mro West, Chairman af the Finance Committee, said this Committee hod met on <br />Aft?
