Fitch Road has been completely resurfaced; Stearns Road is in <br />process. <br />Mr?. Hodgins, lvhairmar of LiGuor Control and Public Service and Utilities, mentioned <br />a letter written by Mu°a Charles Watts to Safety-Service Director Limper°t which stated <br />that it is impossib)e to contract with School Board to coliect garbage and rubbish <br />firom Junior High and Butternut Elementary Schools due to lack of capacity in present <br />packeo° trucks. However, since the purchase of fourth packer truck is authorized, <br />Mro Watts feels that if collection could be combined with other- collection routes <br />and be picked up in the afternoon prior to going to the land-fiil, it could be done <br />far a fee which eoulc" be in a competitive price range with their present contract. <br />T?Nis can only be done upon delivery of packer truck. Mrs. Hodgins also annoUnced <br />a meeting on Wednesday, September 27th, at 8:15 p.m. with committee to study report <br />on Sol i d Waste Di sposal , <br />Chairman Dewey Limpert, Transportation Committee, reported on a rneeting the morning <br />of September 9th, with families whose children are involved in the bus fare inerease. <br />After discussion, Mr. IVooney said that nothing could really be solved at this meet- <br />ing, and that thei r commi ttee would plan to address Counci 1as a whoie s-egarding <br />thei r chi ldren's farese <br />Mr. West reported that the Finance Committee had met twice since last Council <br />Meeteng, Main subjec* was the remainder of 1967, balance of appropriatians and <br />adjustments that needed to be made to take care of expensss for a-ema3nder of year, <br />added income and expenses> Also, in reference to increased bus fares, he commented <br />it is too earty to come to any conclusion as to increase. After October we can telt <br />better. He mentioned also that in spite of fact that people voted on a Library Issue <br />af some $30,000 a year, this has been absorbed in our revenue, and City portion of <br />Rpal Estate Taxes wi1S be held t0 11.4 - no increase since 1964. <br />Mro Mangani said his committees(Design and Plating and Public Parks, Property & <br />Recreation) had had no forma? meetings. They are in receipt of the minutes of <br />the Planning Commission of Seatember 12th and request of 30-day extension from <br />Ct ncil on the Saks and Goidberg Rezoning due to fact that new proposal necessi- <br />es additional time for further study; also, recommendation made that the <br />s.uggested zoning standac-ds for an attached singte-family home district be adopted. <br />They also approved Dorothy Karnp Subdivision of four sub-tots at corner of Kennedy <br />Ridgeo Also Leksan legislation.
