r <br />. <br />page 2- April 18, 1967 <br />The Committee-alo discussed paving Southern Avenue frar,i west oi Decker to <br />approximately fiftJ 'ieet za.st or" Burns, Decker from Southern to MidvaYe, and <br />Midvale from Decker to Buins. ihey recommend and wzll ask for resolution <br />of necessity for tne Baving of Southern, Decker arLd Micivale. <br />A tentative and partial list of the streets to be included in the 1967 sidewalk <br />program is as follows° south side of Butternut; complet-L'on of sidewalks on <br />Theresa Lane- Columbia Road, north of Lorain, on the west side; Columbia Road <br />south of Butternut on the west side; Dover Road, from Butternut to Lorain, on <br />the east side7 SouLh Barton, on the east side for the extent of the sewer, or <br />the west side fox the entire length; Root Road- Canterbury, south of Butternut, <br />on the west side! and Silverdale, north to the intersection with Selhurst. <br />The Committee also discussed the resurfacing of Columbia Road south of Lorain, <br />and recommend that aresolution req_uesting this be submittPd to the State> <br />They also recommend that Sec. 913.04 of the Code be changed ta eliminate the <br />- necessity for connecticns to houses that are f'urther than 250 feet from the <br />right-of-waq line of the sanitary sewers. The present wording is ambiguous <br />and cannot be definitely interpreted. <br />4D Some time ago the Committee asked the Safety-Service Director to investigate <br />a temporary storm sewer on the northern portion of Porter Road. This problem <br />has been partially resolved, and the Committee will request legislation authoriz- <br />ing the Safety-Service Director ta install pipe which will be furnished by the <br />property owners, as a temporary measure. <br />The Committee recommends that a request from Sandy Ridge Subdivision for city <br />participation in the cost of storm sewers above 54" in diameter be honored. <br />They recommend to the Fi.nance Committee that a study be made as to whether we <br />have $26,000 to spend on it at once, or whether we can arrange to pay the <br />developer over a period of years. <br />Mr. West, Chairman of the Finance Committee, reported that a meeting was held <br />with the engineer who is making an incinerator study, for a discussion of the <br />cost and present status of the study. <br />Mr. Eugene Barkhurst, 6299 Somerset Drive, Chairman of tlie Bretton Ridge <br />Citizens Committee, read a letter addressed to Councilman West, to which was <br />attached a petition signed bv a substantial ma.jority of Bretton Ridge homeowners. <br />Subject of the petition was relocation of the proposed Stearns Road - I-80 <br />intercnange to a north-south road other than Stearns, and arequest for a <br />depressed right-of-wav through Bretton Ridge. <br />Mayor Christman reported the HiQhway Department had advised their new pro- <br />posals for interchanges on I-80 wi11 be ready in about two weeks.
