<br />Mr. Caster, Chairmari of the Municipal Deveicpment Committee, reported on their
<br />a!?-council meeting to discuss the consent ordinance submitted for 1-80. It is
<br />be'lng he(d in committee tor further discussion. Mr. Caster requested that any
<br />coinciimen having other questions or suqqestions on this proposed legislation
<br />contact him.
<br />Mr. Foltz, Chairman of the Legislative Committee, reported on their joint meeting
<br />held with the Finance Committee on January 12th, at which they worked on separate
<br />tab!es cf organization for each depariment, setting the number of employees in
<br />each pos'ltione They have comp(eted orgenization charts for the Public Works
<br />Division, fihe Buil.ding Department, the Engl'neering Departmenfi, the Pianning
<br />Commission, the Recreation Commission, the Civil Service Commission, the Board
<br />of Buildiny Code Appeals and the Board of Zoning Appeals. The rema'lning
<br />charts will be studied afi fufiure joint meetings of the two committees.
<br />The Ley"islative Committee aiso discussed the Safety-Service Director's request
<br />that the City Engineering Department be pa;d for time spent by them inspecting
<br />sidewalks, when the work for which they have been called is noi- ready for
<br />inspection. it was recommended that when an inspector has been cafled and the
<br />job is not ready, fihe next time the inspector hoid off for at least twenty-four
<br />hours on an inspection call from the seme sourcea lt was felt that this would
<br />make the sidewaik contractars more prompt.
