Public Hearing Minutes 3-23-70
_2_
Mr. Udelson stated that at the meeting he had made this statement
verbally, and Mr. laest asked if he would put same in writing.
Pzesident 0'Neill asked if anqone else cared to address Council.
Mr. Prokasy stated he would iike to say particularly in view of much
discussion of zaning this past year in front of Cit}? Bodies, Council
and Planning Comoaiasion, that in this case we are taking a piece of
property that was zoned for Hi-Rise use, the anly piece outside the
indusCrial districC on Lorain Roac3 that is not zoned to caamercial V#e, ,-,,,TC
and zcming it to comercial use, in some waya might seem incon3istent
with proposals that were made for rezoning Iset year. Mr. Prokasy £*ated
he does nat believe it to be incansistent ouly because many people in
this comamity demonstrated ttteir desire of having a commsrcfal zoning
and were claiming prefudice being used against them if their property
were re$oned, so it would seem that discrimination fn this case is being
practiced by this property awner being the onlq one not to have equivalent
zoning. Mr. Prokasy said for thfs reason he believes fn alI fairness,
this property rezoning request should be granted.
Mr. 0'Neill said he wou2d entertain motion for adjournnent.
