Christman, Service Director Charles Watts, <br />Law Director J. t3ruce Kitehen, Acting City Engineer Michael Karhan, <br />Clerk of Council Florence Ho1m- <br />The minutes of ineeting of June 17th were approvEd ds written. <br />Mayor Christman mentioned joint meeting on the flooding problem which involved <br />Westlake, Fairview Park, Bay Viliage and North Olmsted, at Westlake City Hall <br />on June 25th. The Mayors and Engineers fram these dffected communities outlined <br />flooding problems in their respec.Live Citzes to members of Department of Natural <br />Resources, the Corps of Engineers, the Ohio Soil and Taater Conservation Commis- <br />sion and the U. S. Soil Conservatiun Service. Afterward a tour of areas was made <br />by bus provided by North 0lmsted, Then possible solutions were discussed. The <br />Corps of Engineers stated that they could possibly undertake a study on one of <br />the five creek systems which are in this area, withauc auzhorization by Congress. <br />The Mayor said the fireworks program is ready £or the Fourtti of July. Letters <br />were sent to groups who had previously contributed to this pragram, and many <br />responded with a donation for thrs year. <br />The Mayor also mentipned that the City of North 0lmsted received a Pedestrian <br />Safety Award along with the Bus Safety Award. <br />Mr. Limpert, Chairman of the Transportation Committee, said thafi the meeting <br />with Fairview Park Transportation Committee had been cancelled for June 30th. <br />He will set up another date for meeting with Fairview. <br />Mr. West, Chairman of Financ°e Committee, said this committee had met on June 23rd. <br />They went over the preliminary 1970 budget, submitted by Administration with re- <br />commendations from various departments. Budget wi11 be discussed again on July 7th, <br />and final recommendation will then be made for submi.ttal to County. Committee will <br />also review recommendation of Recreation Commission concerning long range recrea- <br />tion facilities issue which Recreation Commisszon would like to have presented to <br />voters at November election. Mr. West will ask far legisiation this evening to <br />have this put on ballots It wi11 be divided into three sections so that voters <br />would have choice of three, two, one or none, Mr. West also mentioned that at <br />a special meeting, this committee recommended and requested legislation for Safe- <br />ty Director which authorizes him to take bids for a new ambulance, since present <br />,ambulance was involved in an accident, <br />Mr. Prokasy, Chairman of Design & Piatting Committee, said thi.s committee met <br />June 24th to go over final proposals on recommended zoning code amendments and <br />map. They recommend the legislation as it is presented tonight, including the <br />zoning map. They will have reduced sized copies ot zoning map by July 14th. <br />Mr. Prokasy also mentioned that the Planning Commission has rec.ommended approval <br />of Great Northern Partnership Subdivision for mixed use rezoning, and a 30-day <br />extension for S. D. C. IncA Subdivision so that addi.tional study could be made. <br />Mr. Prokasy moved, seconded by Mr. West, that 30-day extension be grantedq "Yeas" <br />????
