Martindale, Butternut Ridge, spake againeC the C.E.I. proposal and <br />spot rezoning, etc. Feels Counci1 is e3.tting bq quietly on this project. <br />It was explained by Mx. West a1Z of the work that has been dcrae; research <br />and reporta given bq Mr. West for eix mwnthe iacluding meetings with Mr. <br />Childs and Mr. Crabbs relative to sugrwCfarns an alternstes. Mr. West <br />further stated he would be happp to eweat orith any addltional peaple for <br />fuxther icleas, etc. FeelB he hss followed everq $uggestian that was given <br />and cited examples. Mscvssian contiaued. <br />Mrs. Richard Addy, Columbia Road, stated ci,rcular regarding tonight's meeting <br />caas sent out by her - reasan being no otte is notified ahead of tiare. This <br />involves her property snd is very cauctrned; also commented on easemestts <br />involving her property. <br />Mr. Bross, 5171 Whitethorn Aveaue, wiehed to go on record as being agsinst <br />the rezoning of Country Club ApartmeAts and gave his reaasons. <br />Mr. Lon 3ay, Columbia Road, questioned the right of eminent domain by C.E.I. <br />Mr. H. Hill, Plutternut Ridge, crntmssnted ott artic].e in newspaper wherein it <br />was stated C.E.I. was going ta take hia hoitse. Further, C.E.I. knvws nothing <br />of this as he talked to them. Wondered hma information of this type $ets out. <br />Mr. Paul Hayes, C.E.I. Representative, explaiaed the right of emf.nent domain. <br />Mr. S. Hess, 25427 Butternut Ridge Road, recommended Council pass an under- <br />ground ardinance for high tension lines. He cited the Citq of Euclid's <br />ordinance and that C.E.I. cient to Court and wss defeated. <br />Mayor Christman discussed meeting in Breclcsville wherein same questirnn <br />was raised regarding Painesville caee and Euclid esse. <br />Mr. Ficken, General Supervising Engineer 1n Transmissian & Distributioa <br />Dept. of C.E.I. , said that in the City of Euclid the Sugreme Cflurt did <br />rule against C.E.I. They did not fnstall a line at that tiae. The lxw, <br />hawever, has aince beeni ciaanged - latest cerse an record 1s City of Paimesville. <br />C.E.I. requeated right to build n 345,000 volt tower line and 132,000 valt <br />stesl pole line. C.E.I. was uphe2d in Supreme Couxt since law has bean <br />changed - a law passed by the State Legislature. Discussian continusd. <br />At this point Mr. Lirapert asked Mr. Fickea if it would be possible to build <br />substation in industrial ares on weat end of tawa and be abZe to supplp <br />Nozth Olmsted from that point. He aaid there is hape in the near futuxe <br />to develop this industrial area and thf.s undoubtedly would require additional <br />pawer in that area. <br />Mr. J. Williams, Kenaedy Ridge, feels radiation from overhead lines will <br />affect everqone. Cited underground cable built in Ashtabula river in 1446 <br />and has yet ta see it serviced. It wss brought out by Mr. Flcken that this <br />is a 33 kv low voltage line. Discuesion Coatinued.
