Bruce Kitchen, Acting City Engiaeer <br />Michael Rarhan, C1exk of Council Nora Hill. <br />A4inutes of Council Meeting of November 4, 1970, were approved as written. <br />Service Director Caster stated that the Mayor wonld like to have him coavey <br />informstion on the bids that were received on ConCracC 2-B, 2-C, 2-D an the <br />Wastewater Treatment Plax3t expansion: B- General Contract, C- Siudge <br />Conditioning EQuipment - D- Electrical. Bids were received on November 5, <br />1970, and total conbination of bids canre in about $300,000. over the <br />Engiaeer's estimate or about 8.8' Major difference being in the Genersl <br />Contrsct. Mr. Caster detailed the naabes of bidders, what same were bidding <br />on, and amcrunts as well as amounts estimated by Engipeer. Bids have been <br />tabu2ated and verified and are being seat on to the State of Ohio. The 3tate <br />will have to approve these before any further action can be taken by the City <br />as ta letting the bids. <br />Law Dixector Ritchen regorted on the following: 1) re - gas station on <br />corner of Park Ridge Drive and Lorain: Last week argued in 8th District <br />Court of Appeals and successfully defended our Buf lding Code, and a.s of <br />this tiane there will be no gas staCion on that corner; 2} re - Iawsuit filtd <br />lsst March against the City of Cleveiand on the water tap-in ban. We have <br />received decision on that. North Olmsted is the onlq City in County wlaa had <br />taken it to Court and carried lawsu3t all the caap up - not settling sams-:tis <br />Chamers but fought it - and North O1msCed has [he right to have all of the <br />water tap-ins it needs. <br />Mrs. flodgine, Chairman Public Safety, Health & Welfare Comitte and Re.creatidn <br />Public Parks & Building Comittee, reported the following: Liquor Control <br />Conmtttee met and agreed to object to the latest liquor permit application <br />which was for a D-3, located at 26540 Lorain Road. This aumber is not <br />recorded in the City and has nat been fssued. Have legisl.ation covering <br />this matter tonight. <br />Mr. Boehmer, Chairman 5txeets & Drainage Conaittee, reported this Committee <br />met on November lOth and discussed plana to install a curb catch basin and <br />tie-in to the storm sewer line on Dover Ceatex RoBd north of Lorsia Road. <br />This will drain water from the street near the Gulf Station - water has no <br />outZet which makes a catch basin necessaxy. Approuimate cost to the City <br />is $240. Also under discussion was dedi.catian af Sandy Ridge Subdivision <br />#4 and #6 and wi11 ask far legisiation for same. <br />Mr. Liarpert, Chairman Finance Comdttee, reported this Comittes nct rcgsrd- <br />ing several items: 1) requtst by Mx. Grady relative to i.npraving the corner <br />of Butternut R3dge & Columbia Rds. Ccrami.tte has looked ober prablem and feels <br />this is a job that needs to be done.
