Still have mare in£or-
mation to gather. As usual in sumertime the bus line loses maney due to
vacations and children not riding t?3e buses. Generelly, it picics up in
the Fall and are awaiting on haw this Fa11 Iooks 3nsofar as revenue ccming
in and whether or not it is go#.ng to offset this qear, as it has in most
other years, the deficit which was deveioged in summertime. dther thing
to remember in canmectian with the bus line 1s we did pay for the mini
buses this year. InCeresting to AOCE that since the CTS strike the buses
that go to the rapid particulaxly in the rus-h hours have just na-y returned
to anywhere near the number of riders that theq had. People are going
downtown on buses and it fs impartant that we geC mre buses for rush
hour traffic. Having to atand a full hour 3s certainly a detXiment to
increasing our riders. With the propoaed CTS fare hike it is going to
make it a11 the more important to continue the gaad service as cheaply
as possible for the residents of North 0lmsted so we are going to have
to get more buses. In anawer to inqu3.xy of Mr. West as to status of
Federal Grant applicat3.on, Mayox ChrisCman said he has not heard that
same has been okayed by NOACA as yet.
Continuing his report Mr. West stated the Building, Zoning & Deuelopment
Committee met snd reviewed the following: (1) the drainage and parking
on Forest 5chool, (2) adctitions ta Chestnut and Maple Schools - libraries,
and an addition onto B3rch School.
Mr. West made amotion that Council go on record as approving the revised
drainage and parking lapout for the Forest School. Motion was seconded
by Mr. Speedling.
Mr. Grady asked if this is the self contained retention wherein the water
lays in parking 3.ot because of $maller drainage pipes. Mr. taest answered
it is not in parking lat - it is a special drainage by itself; a retention
basin over and abave parking lot. Discussion continued.
