Mr. Klein said
Engineering had it fvr three weeks and asked if Erigineeriag Departsent
would issue a letter stating prablema.
Mr. Karhan stated same was turned back to 5euffert aad requested them to
came up with a suitable way of getting rid of the water. Another thing,
Mx. Karhan stated, is that the drewi.ngs were semt out be£ore thep xere
approved, and people bid on it before they had approved draswiiaga. It is
not Mr. Rarhan's problem to turn around and deaign retenticrn basia for the
architect. The arahitect is being paid a hanclsome sum by the School Board
and it is his duty t4 sake the clesign, and if the design is auitable, Mr.
Karhan said his Department wi11 apprave it. Further, a 2ett+er has been
seat to the Bu3lding Ccmissianer stating reasons why this has not been
agproved. Also, Mr. Seuffert was in Mr. Karhan's office three weetcs ago
and was told then what the problem was.
Mr. Klein asked if he is to undsrstand that there will be nq buildfng permit
issued until the site drainage is corrected or re-engiaaqexsd?
Mr. Karhan stated he wi12 not spprove it until same is eorrected or re-
engineersd to the satisfaction of his Department.
President 0'Nei1Z recapped that problem was pointed out to Mr. Seuffert
soaietim ago and if he wants saw in the form of a letter, Mr. RoThM
will ablfge. In the meanti.ae, it is up to Mr. Klei.n to get his architect
to redesign aad comply with the Bngfnearing Uepartaent. DiscuWsion
cantinued with Mayor thristow stating that Mr. Klein, as agmt fax
Seuffert, is the one that haa to sstisfy the City on drainsge.
