A pr+opwsa-aw outl3.ned to the Committee whereby <br />they would build aad operste a recyeling plant that wculd handle the <br />disposal of all sol.id waste:s. '1'wo groblema cannected cvith the groposai <br />were (a) requireorent guazantee of 1,400 tors per day which ia more than <br />North Olmsted alcxie cou2d supply; (b) Coet - Whi1.e they wauld buil@ and <br />ogerate the facility at na ccet to us, we wauld be eVected to pay between <br />$5. and $6. per toa for diupaeal. This f.s considerablq tirare than the City <br />is presently paying. Mr. Speedliag mmtionad that everq method that has <br />been loaked into, iacltiuling the County propa$aY, has these two problems. <br />Mr. R.te9ter is to pre"ut this prvpcsal to other west side comrmnities, <br />and the Ccmittee agreed to wait and ascertsin if anq of tham are interested <br />before We go any+ further osi this. <br />Oa September 25, 1970, Mr. Spesdling and Mayor (hristman atteaded ameeting <br />with County Gomm3.ssionexs, at vhich many of the western suburhs were repre- <br />sented, to hear a prvposal by tht Comty on :olid wasts diapcsal. They are <br />going to get prvpc"la an a trmsfer station to serve the western suburbs. <br />The transfer stations wou1d be a comcrn dumpi.ng grouad from which the <br />Couaty wauld have to dispose of the wsete. At this time, theq have not <br />decided on any meChod o# dispoeal, but wiZl have same at next meeting. <br />Mr. Weat, thsirmm Traneportatian aad Building, Zoniag & Developaent <br />Comnittees reported the BuilBiag, Zcming & Development Cammittee met on <br />September 29, 1970, and revirwed the following item : 1) - C. E.I. was in for apprcrval of new averhead liae and to supp2.q a <br />substation to be propcaed later. This ne+w power liae wi11 came in <br />acrcas Eeluabia Road and gb uear the new Columbia Road. After ccm- <br />siderable d#.acussian the Comittee agreed to request legislation <br />aPProving the overhmW pomr line. <br />2) At meeCittg on Setp r 29th, the Deputy Engineer and Chief Engineer <br />of Gounty were preseant aC (7camittee's request to discuiss the Stearna <br />g,oad astamion and widening af aame. After much discussian of a11 <br />item related to thia, revl.ew Qf plaas and draaings, etc. Cammittee <br />will roquest legis].a,t3an to apprcrve the recamnended ceuter line and <br />to petltion the Covnty Cesmmissicners to establish the road aa a covnty <br />major thorvughfare. <br />3) Dieeussed Bradley Roacl culvext -same has been under plaxis for four <br />years. Praa3sed to get ssme under bid tihis year. <br />4) - Revi+Gti?ad snd appraved Jamatcwn parking and exteasion proposa2. <br />Mr. West moved that Caumeil apprave the Jamestown parking and exteusion <br />as has b+sen laid out on dswi.ng. Notion was seconded by Mr. Speedling. <br />Affirmative vote Boehmer, Grady, Rodgine, Linpert, 5peedling, West. <br />5) Aiacussed West Shore Guidaace Center propasai and Conmittee decided <br />that same should be returtted to the Building Comissioner for more <br />ittforoation ae to apprcval code rnn wir3ng and many ather items in <br />connection therewith.
