Minutes of Council Meeting of I1-21-72 -2- <br />Mr. Boehmer, Chairman Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee, reported <br />Cor~t~s3 ttee met a:~d reviewed application far a D 3 A permit to sell until <br />2:30 A.M. of Howard Johnson Co. dba Ground Round, 24250 Lorain Road, and <br />Committee has no objections to approval of this application. <br />2) Mr. Boehmer stated there are approximately 30 needy families in City <br />that need help at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Anyone willing to contribute <br />money, clothing or food should contact Mr. Boehmex at home, or Mr. Prokasy <br />or Mr. Giesser, members of Public Safety, Health & welfare Committee. <br />Mr. Giesser, Chairman Intro Governmental Relations & Legislation Co~aittee, <br />reported the following: 1) Legislation Committee met and reviewed bicycle <br />ordinance in relation to Lakewood`s. Lakewood has just proposed a new <br />ordinance ~~hich is identical to North 0lmsted's. <br />2) External Maintenance Code - there are a number of problem areas and <br />further discussion is necessary. Along with and in conjunction there <br />is a meeting on November 29th, by Cuyahoga County Realty Board which will <br />be discussing internal inspections of housing. Mr. Giesser and Mr. Carnahan <br />will attend this meeting. <br />3) Mr. Giesser scheduled a Legislation Committee meeting on December 4, <br />1972, at 9:00 P.M. <br />Mr. Lampert, Chairman Finance Committee, reported the following: 1) Committee <br />met with members of Recreation Committee and Mr. Prokasy, to discuss future <br />plans for recreation in City. <br />2) Legislation regarding Federal General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund was <br />discussed. tdill report further on areas where this caill be used. <br />Mr. Speedling, Chairman Transportation Committee, reported the bus Line <br />revenue for the month of October was the second highest in the history of <br />the bus line - $8,000. above the previous October. This helps the d'icit <br />picture considerably this year. <br />Mr. Prokasy, Chairman Streets & Drainage Committee and Recreation, Public <br />Parks & Building Committee, reported the following: 1) Recreation meeting <br />of November 20th consisted of a generalized discussion to investigate the <br />feasibility of funding of such recreational programs as a swimmfxtg pool, <br />ice hockey or ice rink. Master program will take much study on ways of <br />financing without requiring the use of current tax dollar operating expenses. <br />Either through a combination of federal grant and revenue from the oper- <br />ational facilities to see if such facilities can feasibly be built for the <br />Community. Very preliminary at this point - it is a long way from the <br />start of such disc~ssione to the completion of applications for grants, <br />etc. <br />LEGISLATION: <br />Resolution Nq. 72-171 introduced by Mx. Lampert was given its third reading. <br />A Resolution authorizing the Director of Finance to refund $272.05 ses+-er <br />rental charge to Daniel J. Haynes, 4973 Hampton Drive, 'North Olststed, Ohio. <br />Mr. LimQert moved for adoption of Resolution, sec~c?ed by Mr. West. Affir- <br />mative vote Boehmer, Giesser, Lampert, Prokasy, Saringer, Speedling, West. <br />notion carried. Resolution No. 72-171 adopted. <br />
