Affttve vote: Bo~ower, Giessen, <br />Saringer, 5peedling, West. Motion carried. <br />-?- <br />loo. ?3-82. motion <br />Lis~ert, Proiussy, <br />Under Old Business: <br />President O'Neill referred Ord. No. ?3-62 to Mr. Giessen, Chairmu- Is-tra Govern- <br />mental Relations ~ Legislation Coswittee, for rec~sideration -legislation to <br />be more specific. <br />Mr. West discussed Stearns Road Bxte:asion, Cov:tty Commissioners split vote; <br />Westlake's proposal end further delay of County Commissioners to act crn this. <br />Mr. West requested Clerk of Council to write to the County Co~rissioo+t~cs e~-lalnng <br />that considerable time has expired and it is our understanding an agxet has <br />been worked out with Westlake; it is felt the people have been kept dangling on <br />this long enough and it is time the Coosxissioners either act on it yr forget about <br />ft. If the County Coamissiaaera act unanimously, Mr. West will do what he had <br />promised to -that is get an initiative petition so it can 80 on the ballot. If <br />the County Commissioners are not able to act on this it will be Mr. West's <br />recommendation to forget the whole project and state this is something that just <br />cannot be done. <br />President O'Neill discussed with Mayor Christman, Mr. Li~ert a~ Mr. Speedliug, <br />complaint of Mr. Steer regarding dunk cars stored at Martin's Aaa~to Body. Mr. <br />Steer resides two houses away Erna Martin's Auto Body. Mr. O'Neill looked at <br />Martin's Auto Body and Mr. 0`~i11 feels this is being used as a ~u~c yard and <br />is a disgrace, ~d questioned if that property is zoned for junk care. Mayan <br />Christman detailed the investigation that has been done regardna$ Mr. Steer's <br />complaint. A junk yard would not be permitted by the zoning. Mr. ~tttn tows <br />in wrecks, abandoned cars from City streets are stored there temporarily until <br />he gets title to enable him to aeh the cars. Mr. Martin does have a garage <br />and repairs cars which it legal according to the coning. Mr. L3~mpert, Mr. <br />Speedling and Mr. Boehmer have received calls from Mr. Steer and have imvnstigated. <br />There are a great many cars there. There are cars that are d and ahaad+aned <br />on our streets and it is the responsibility o€ the City to clear these vehicles <br />from the street. There is a chain link fence and some small sht'uhbary. Mr. <br />Boehmer commented ~+~ he was down there the cars did not go past the 500 ft. <br />Discussion continued. This will again be checked into. <br />Mr. West referred to "no left turn" signs on Mill Rd. and Sparky Lane. Questioned <br />if it is necessary fora "no left turn" sign all of the time or could this be <br />limited to busy times, etc. Mayor Christman stated traffic pattern is being <br />closely watched; there is a counter on Dover Center Rd. now. Tt~ia entirely <br />on the amount of traffic -whole area is being watched. Mr. Lia~pert feels the <br />"no left turn" is hard en~ph to enforce now; if there is a time li.'it he feels <br />there will be a worse violation that what we have right now. <br />Under New B~iaess: <br />Mrs. Beringer referred to abortion clinic that is trying `t~olopem *~$ fo <br />If that City is successful in ~t letting them open hey <br />another location.
