<br />r Special Minutes of Council Meeting of 8-22-74 -2- <br />Mayor Christman com~aented the only way to fiord aut what it will cost and if <br />we can build the con~lex is to go out for bids. He referred to article regarding <br />Rocky River Complex and stated the rate charged by Rocky River for skating is not <br />the rate that was recommended by people who made the feasibility study for Rocky <br />River. The rate was reduced approximately 20~ which Councll loorarad. Mayor <br />further commeated on deficits and capital expenBe of Rocky River rink. <br /> <br />Mr. Limpert commented Council is taking a serious look at the Comp].sx ~d with <br />the in3ection of Council approval in the legislation feels sure that Coamscil is <br />protected. <br />Mr. Giesser stated he would like to apologize for the holding of these Special <br />Meetings but i~ became evident that if we wait any longer to go out far bids and <br />the architect~is ready to submit his plans that with the rate of inf lattion and <br />cost going up so quickly felt there was no nod to wait. Did not wmmnt to pass <br />this on emergency and felt the only way was to hold two special m+eeti a~td make <br />the public aware that this will not go through an emergency basis so that they <br />may come and state their comments. <br />Mr. Giesser urged Council to study this further because of recent developments, <br />and thanked Council for their cooperation on dates and time of the special meetings. <br />President O`Neill asked if anyone in audience would care to comment, but would <br />prefer to hold comments on this until Council knows more about this. <br />Mr. Limpert moved to excuse the absence of Mrs. Saringer, seconded by Mr. Goggin. <br />Affirmative vote: Giesser, Goggin, Limpert, Sharpe, West, Wilamoaky. Motion carried. <br />Mr. West moved for adjourn~aent, seconded by Mr. Giesser. Affirmative vote; Giesser, <br />Goggin, Lim~pert, Sharpe, West, Wilamoaky.
