Lars Director Gateau stated that the <br />ordinance adopted without the eaergeaa<cy acts like a nullity; ft cannot meet the <br />Conaslitutional requirsonts. Legislation <br />did not pass by a 2/3 vote. As a result legislation will still bq effective <br />but will be effective too late to be er~d.tted to the Board of Elections to be <br />placed on the November ballot. The~cefore, in effect, it was a nullity. <br />Und~„~er Old Busin~rs: <br />Mr. West stated we ought to recognize the fact that the Jaycees have been dtmating <br />their time in putting together park benches at City Hall seed this will save the <br />City a lot of tmoaeq. Feels they should be acknowledged. <br />Mr. Lampert referred to negotiating with City employees -recognizing ba:tefits <br />in our. insurance plan. Mayor Christ~a <br />stated he had requested a decision from them - received a letter gasterday asking <br />for a little extension of time because some of their offacials of the unntian were <br />on vacation and they had rat yet had a chance to discuss this anti take a vote on <br />it at the IInion Meeting. Hopefully this decision will be made sooan. Mr. LisQert <br />would like to converse with the Mayor on the matter. <br />Mr. Wilamosky asked Mayor Ghrist~ if voter registration will be extended to <br />early evening. there are times when residents of the co~anity work late amd <br />cannot get to City Hall by 4:00 P.M.
