Discussion pertaining to Ord. No. 74-118. Lars Director Gateau stated that the ordinance adopted without the eaergeaa<cy acts like a nullity; ft cannot meet the Conaslitutional requirsonts. President Pro Tem GeaaHSar esplafned to audience: On saarergeancy legislation - because it was on eaeercy the legislations had to pass by 2/3 vote. Legislation did not pass by a 2/3 vote. As a result legislation will still bq effective but will be effective too late to be er~d.tted to the Board of Elections to be placed on the November ballot. The~cefore, in effect, it was a nullity. Und~„~er Old Busin~rs: Mr. West stated we ought to recognize the fact that the Jaycees have been dtmating their time in putting together park benches at City Hall seed this will save the City a lot of tmoaeq. Feels they should be acknowledged. Mr. Lampert referred to negotiating with City employees -recognizing ba:tefits in our. insurance plan. Mayor Christ~a stated he had requested a decision from them - received a letter gasterday asking for a little extension of time because some of their offacials of the unntian were on vacation and they had rat yet had a chance to discuss this anti take a vote on it at the IInion Meeting. Hopefully this decision will be made sooan. Mr. LisQert would like to converse with the Mayor on the matter. Mr. Wilamosky asked Mayor Ghrist~ if voter registration will be extended to early evening. there are times when residents of the co~anity work late amd cannot get to City Hall by 4:00 P.M.
