Reason which prompts this action ie twat tb+e 3 <br />Court of the United States recently held thct a prosecutor has ~;ty frsm laic <br />sad this case involves the prosecutor giving advice to four of the Police <br />Department. Law Director expect: this will be filed within the next month and <br />hopefully will be dismissed. <br />Safety Director Carnahan raportsd: 1) Collier Construction is winging up the <br />installation of the new traffic controls and signals on Brookpas~lc Rd. this week. <br />They can only start up o~ iatersectictn at a tiste and traffic stay be congested <br />for a few days until the intersections are connected and syndronised into the <br />system. Would also lake to adv.at that on the left turn slots on Brookpark Rd. <br />there will be a red si~aal an tap wad a green signal on the bottom, and on this <br />one can turn with caution to the left. If one waits for a couple of seconds you <br />will get a green arrows which is a protected left turn lane. Mr. Goggin and <br />President Lia~ert discussed latter with Safety Director Carnahan. Some type of <br />notice will be posted. <br />Mrs. Beringer, Chairman Streets & Drainage Committee, reported Committee Meeting <br />was held on March 25th. In attendance besides Committee Maa~ers were Engineer <br />Childs, Asst. Engineer McDermott, Mr. Caster wad Mr. Weldon. Mr. Thompson from <br />Maple Ridge Rd. was also in attendance and his flooding situation was discussed. <br />The Engineer agresd that a survey crew will go out when the ditches are high to <br />shoot an elevation before melting nay determination; <br />2) Report was given by Mr. Caster in regard to the smoke testing that is underway. <br />Certified mail notices were sent to 25 residents in the Deerfield area reQ~sting <br />that they make corrections. 13 have made corrections and 12 have not. The Law <br />Director will be notified by the Service Director to cite these people. The <br />balance of the smoke testing will resuste. It is imperative that this program <br />proceed as rapidly as possible so that we can evaluate the results during periods <br />of heavy rainfall; <br />3) discussed sidewalk repair prograst for 1976. These are replacement sidewalks; <br />ones that mere missed last year. The Engineering Department has Bleven Hundred <br />Fifty addresses to serve notice. Probably one-third of these will be on contract. <br />The Cc,s~mittee rs~oatmsnds the City proceed with sidewalk repair program and would <br />like sut~rization of Finance Cos~mittee for $2,000. far City's portion. There is <br />a tight schedule we would have to follow in order far repairs to be made this year. <br />Would like Finance Committee approval as soon as possible. However, it is hopeful <br />that the sidewalk program from last year will be completed before we get started <br />into this one; <br />4) Committee also recommends installation of Mill Rd. aidewaik and storm sewers <br />if funds are available. The City's portion would be $13,000. Would like Finance <br />Committee approval for this also; <br />5) Re - Mr. Marcia' ditch on Maple Ridge Rd. Going back to the records - on <br />8/25/75 the Engineering Dept. did go out and Mr. Ed Novak did confer with Mr. <br />Marcia at that time. The ditch was graded. On March 2nd Mr. McDermott viewed <br />the ditch. He reported entire front ditch was working well. President Limpert <br />and Mrs. Beringer made inspection several weeks ago along with Mr. Caster, Mr. <br />Weldon and l~r. McDersott sad at this time also found it satisfactory. Upon <br />advice of r and Service Director report nothing acre to be dame at site; <br />6) Discussed repair program for berms and ditches. on roadsides and it was <br />decided by the ms~ority of the Committee to start a program to repair the ditches <br />along with resurfacing the roads and would take the worst roads first - repair <br />ditches and resurface the street. It was also suggested that to finance this <br />that the homeowners would be assessed for the work and also for the driveways <br />
