Limpert, Councilmect Beaty, Logan, Petrigac, <br />` Saringex, Sharpe, Wilamosky. <br />A18o present: Mayor Robert Swietyniavski, Law Director M3chae1 Gsrdsu, Finmce <br />Director Robert Brockmaa, Ss#ety Dizector Eugene Petro, 5ervice <br />Director Joseph Corrigm, Citp Fa3ginaer RonaiB Zurswski, Clerk <br />of Council, Floreance Campbell. <br />Absent: Councilman Boehmer. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Liiapert at 8:00 P.M. <br />Presideut Limpart invited members of the sudience to join Rtembers of Council in re- <br />citing the Pledge of Allegiamce. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of December 4, 1979, vere approved as asended by <br />Mr. Wilaanoskq. Uader Lang Range PluutiAg Report an Page 4, Ztem (10) waa expandsd <br />upoa and the follawing added: "The inteat of the "crime al.ert" signs is to mwice <br />peoples aware of the fact that the Police Department does have a CS and dass ?itor <br />Chaaael 9 so anpone wttaessing a crime could report to the Police Department by way <br />of CB radio." <br />Las+ Director Garesu reported: 1) Last year City filed for an increase with respeet <br />to Great Northara Shoppiag Center. Theq filed for a decrease for this tax year. <br />Todaq the Board of Revisioa threw out their request for a decrease on a ttchni.cal <br />basis asid increased the aasassed valuation by $1,833,794.29. In effecC, this sraene <br />about $25,000 more per year to the School Boaxd snd sbout $7,000 mc?re for the Citq. <br />2) WitM respect to the RTA :uit, laat week filed additionsl affidavits to protect <br />th,e recnrd and at the same time filed a ntiotton to consolidate the North Okmtaad case <br />with the Maple Aei$hts case. <br />3) The Raights of Coltmbus case was scheduled for trial in Rocky River Municipal <br />Court on Saturday. This in a replevin case - trying to g!t back tha "pennyr-fall" <br />machinee. Theq dismissed this case and opted to ga with ths case thst is in Comon <br />Pleas Court which will probably b+e heard within the neact forty-five daya. <br />Safety Director Petre repor'ted: 1) Recreation Commission .•feahera met with Mr. <br />Robert Hill, planner, regarding a prelisinary Master Pl,aa for North 0lmsted Park. <br />Many recaNSendations weYS msde awd an additioiul meeting is achedu2ed for "r1y <br />January to incorporate theae reccmenciaCions in the p,lan. Hopes all Council <br />Membexs will become involved in the eaalqsls of the plaa and will share their ideas <br />and recommendations with Mr. Hill and the Comission. <br />2) Recentlq met with Mr. Bill Holtz, T+NIZ, Chanael 25 representative for tbrth <br />O].msted school system, regarding cable 1'V. School aystem is extresalg intersstsd <br />in cable TV and Che poasible development of a public accesa chsnnel far the school. <br />3) Reni.nded everyone thst al.cohol usage figured in appraxiawately 362 of all tlbio <br />trafffc fataliC3es in 1978. Anyane convicted of dxiving while fnCoxicatsd in thio <br />mmy face a cost of $3,500 in legal fees, court fines asui hi$h risk insurance gremium, <br />not to meaCion the manditory 3ai1 eenteace, licenae auspansion sad pt>iat asseasaents. <br />Befmre moving into Committes Reports, President Limgert aaaounced the additian of <br />two pieces of lagislation to the ageads: Ordinance No. 79-176 which establishos the <br />com"neation to be paid to all Mourly employees of the Not'th Olmsted Muaicipal Bua <br />Line and 0rdiaance No. 79-177 which malces appropriations for the currenC expenses and <br />other expenditure* for ths Gity of Aiorth Olmsted, Oh3o, for the year eading ftcenaber <br />31, 1980. Also noted that the next re$ular Camcil ;Ke+eCiag will be on taeduesdsy, <br />January 2, 1980.
