. <br />Council Minutes of 2/2/82 <br />Roll call on motion that Mr. Woerpel fill the vacancy on the Finance Committee: <br />Affirmative vote: Bierman, Petrigsc, Wcerpel. Negative vote: N;u:Ccay, Sariroer, <br />Wilamoakq. 3 Ayes - 3 Nsys - Tie vote. President Boehmer cast decfding vote: <br />Nay. 3 Ayes - 4 Nays - Motion failed. <br />-7- <br />Mrs. Petrigac atated that there is a discrepancy between the pay reeeived by the <br />Ward Councilmen and the Councilmn at Large. Can this be ccrrrectsd so that equal <br />pay is given to a21 Councii M+sabers? Law I3irector advi.sed tttat this problem will <br />always occur hecause of the staggered terms. The tharter ststea that the aalaries <br />sha].1 be eetabliahed privr to thE nomt.nating petitiane being filed and t'!oy sha31 <br />not be iacreased or reduced dur3.ng the terne. A pear from naw an ordinanee will <br />probably be introduced setting the Corancil at Large salaries. <br />Mrs. Saringer scheduled a Legislative Committee Meeting for Tuesday, Pebxuary 9th, <br />at 8 0' clock to digeuss the ordinance regarding the eigns bannin$ the sa1,e of cigar- <br />ettes to minors. Safety Directar is welcome to attend. <br />Mrs. Petrigac scheduled a Long Range Plaaning Committee Meet3ng for 7:30 P.M., <br />Wednesday, February lOth. A1so diacussed with the Mayor the r.#aMpo and tmpruvements <br />being made to Town Aa11. Since the Citq Council is such a very importa€tt gart of <br />this building, would hope that before the Abministration conti.nues, Couttcil would be <br />asked for sug$eations and ?aaput. Mayor advi"d that there will bo Aa great renoratian. <br />Some paaieiing will be removed; walls will be paiated white; ceilin? fan will bt in- <br />stailed a: well as a nes,r soumd spstem; tables ia rear will be raised s Itttle and <br />a new Council table will be installed. Mr. Woerpel adde+d that at the Landmarks <br />Commission Meeting, the MayQr had sZao mentiaaed tearing doam the wa3.1,s snd elimi.n- <br />ating the offices in the froat; making officts domatairs; discvs"tl l.ight fixtures. <br />Mrs. Petxigac reported on the concerned and devoted actian taken bp Bev Micheltree, <br />through the Youth Diversian Depart-menC, in working with a suieidal pouCh through the <br />entire weekend. <br />Mr. Wilamosky requested the Safetq Director to have the Police Deparfimsmt enfarce <br />the "No Ttuck" violators wha are contiauing to coa?e off 1480 onto Stesrns R,erad as <br />a throughway to get ta Lorain Raad. SafeCy Director advised he would cantact the <br />State to have proper signage po$ted on I480. <br />Mr. Wilamosky moved Council appoint Mr. McRay to aerve as Cauacil's represenCative <br />on tbe Cable TV A+dviaory Commission for 1982. Mr. Woerpel sdvM.sed that he 3B now <br />aerving in this capacity until his term expixea fn Decetsber, 1982. <br />Mr. Woerpel moved to excuse the absence o€ Mr. Logan, seconc3ed by Mrs. Saringer, <br />unanimouslq approved. <br />President Boehmer exglai.ned that Mr. Logan's absence was due to the fact that he <br />became the proud father o€ an 8 pocnd, 9 ounce baby girl, Vaat+mea Catherue, 24-1/4 <br />inches, born at 9:30 this moru9.ng.
