. ? <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF ?TORTH OLMSTED <br />SEPTEMAER 20, 1983 <br />Present: President James Boehmer, Councilmen Bierma.n, Logan, McKay, <br />Petrigac, Saringer, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Robert Swietyniowski, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Service Director Joseph Corrigan, Clerk <br />of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Absent: Councilman Woerpel. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Boehmer at 8:15 P.M. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />President Boehmer announced that the minutes of the September 6th meeting would <br />be approved at the October 4th Council Meeting. Also, Ordinance No. 83-116, <br />transferring appropriatians for current expenses and other expenditures for the <br />City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 1983, will be added to <br />the agenda, as well as Resolution No. 83-97, the purchase of one new utility <br />vehicle to be used by the Dog Warden; Ordinance No. 83-117, cfianging the name <br />of a portion of Ranchview Avenue to Tallwood Court; and Resolution No. 82-153, <br />the purchase of four new automobiles and one new utility vefiicle. <br />Mayor Swietyniowski reported: 1) Pipesavers, Inc. will start cleaning out the <br />water line on Lorain Road next Monday. Letters will be matled to residEnts who <br />will be affected by this procedure, advising them what to expect durtng the <br />cleaning operation. The project should be completed in a week and the City is <br />not anticipating any problem with resnect to noise. <br />Service Director Corrigan reported: 1) On Friday, opened bids on specifications <br />for inlet control devices for the Deerfield area; one bidder responded and Dfrector <br />is in the process of evaluation of that bid; will be making specific recommendation <br />to Board of Control and Council. <br />2) Over the past week, members of the Service Department have been involved in <br />moving the City's operations from the five homes on Dover Center Road to the new <br />Administration Center; they did an excellent job. <br />3) Mr. Corrigan intraduced to tfie audience and Members of Council, Mr. Craig Gorsuch, <br />new Commissioner of Public [aorks. <br />Finance Director Boyle reported: 1) City sold approximately $400,000 worth of notes <br />for Servi,ce Department equipment and the telepfione system, interest rate is 7.35% and <br />the purchaser was McDonald and Company. <br />2) Audit by the State of Ohio has been released. <br />3) Has received the August payment, from Rocky River Court, for fines, in the amount <br />of $8,329.00. <br />In reply to Mr. Logan's question about having any problems with the telephone system, <br />Mayor Swietyniowski stated that some water had leaked into the computer and autamatic- <br />ally shut the system down; the contractor's insurance will Tiear the responsibility and <br />cost for repairs.
