Zuraaaki $tated that there is no way that the prajeet <br />will go into cemstruction th.fs year. <br />Mrs. Sgrfnger stated that she is atill g;etting complaints about turning at Clague <br />and Lorafn Roads. Mr. Zuratvaki etated the plan calls for a semi-actuAted, fvur <br />phase controller, which means there will be left turn arraws both on Lerai,a and wrii2 be <br />added to Clague Road. Currentlqy do nat have enough funds in the Cemporary apprQpri- <br />ation to add the left turn arrow far Clague Road. This could be looked into after <br />the pera?anent apprapriation is passed. <br />Finance Director 13crqle reported: 1) HRs received twe 1etCers from the Cotmty <br />Auditor's office. By do#.ag the nronerty reappraisal in-house, County saved <br />$2,729,877.61 and City received their share o£ that -$14,555,71 - on Monday. This <br />ia extra money that was not anticipated. The same daq, City received another letter <br />from the Countq Auditor, stating in part, "In the month of Julq, 1982, an a3rerpRpmnt <br />of $17,644.3 was made to your distri;ct, distribution of iocal aovetnment funding°°. <br />Tlill be paying this back over a qearfs time. Finanee Director is also waiting for <br />a pramised amended certifieate. <br />2) Received a call frem the County Treasurer's office advising that they are gofng <br />to approve abatemeat of all the city-owned progerty taxes on all citp-owned gzoperty. <br />Some of this progertp never had the aseesements taken care of. Will probabiy be <br />introducing legislation in the next moath asking for a transfer to specisl as ts <br />to pa,y them a11 off. <br />3) Is working with National City Bank on a few ideas for the Citq. Througt their <br />corporate services, if the Citq's checking accouutt exceeds a specific balance, <br />National City will sutomaticallq invest it, through repurchase agreemont, fcsr oae <br />day; as more cheeks clear, the bank wili take that amount out and invest it. This <br />becomes a kind of feil-safe invesCmenta no matter what happen:, City w#].l Always <br />have mcrnep inveated and this will increase our interest. Alcng with ?1M aaeoLiinta <br />and MKA's the City can probably fncreae its interest bq $40,000/$50,000 if thia can <br />be ne$otiated. <br />? Law Director Gareau xeported- 1) !fith respect to the Viccaroni Cese, haa rsceived <br />a request for praductfon of documents. Since this case is closed, will igwre this <br />request. <br />2) Met with Safety Di.rector with respect to the new jail standarc#s. Mr. Petre will <br />be reporting out.
