MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 21, 1985 <br />Present: President James Boehmer, Councilmen Bierman, O'Grady, Petrigac, <br />Rademaker, Saringer, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Robert Swietyniowski, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Boehmer at 8:00 P.M., in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of May 7, 1985, were approved. <br />President Boehmer announced: 1) Ordinance No. 85-38, amending Section 351.18 <br />of the codified ordinances to provide for an increased penalty for violating <br />Section 351.20, entitled "Handicapped Parking", has been removed from the agenda. <br />2) A Council-of-the-Whole Committee Meeting will be held Thursday, May 23rd, <br />at 7:30 P.M., to discuss CDBG funds. <br />3) A Special Council Meeting will be held on Thursday, May 23rd, at 8:00 P.M. <br />Ordinance Nos. 85-48, 85-61, 85-62, 85-63, 85-64 and 85-66 will be on the agenda. <br />4) Because of the Primary Election on June 4th, the next regular Council Meeting <br />will be held on Wednesday, June 5th, at 8 P.M. <br />5) Resolution No. 85-65, awarding an increase of fifteen sick days reimbursement <br />to Chief Marion Taylor, North Olmsted Police Department, retired, has been added <br />to the agenda for first reading this evening. <br />Mayor Swietyniowski reported: 1) City has purchased flowers to be planted by the <br />North Olmsted Garden Club at Brookpark and Lorain Roads as well as North Olmsted <br />Park. Appreciates the Garden Club's help in this project. <br />2) Islands in the parking areas near the Senior Center are finished; City will <br />landscape these areas as well. <br />3) North Olmsted Kiwanis Club will conduct a cleanup and planting project around <br />the Community Cabin the weekend of June 1st and 2nd. <br />4) New flags have been purchased and will be in place for Memorial Day weekend. <br />5) Transportation Study Committee met at 9 A.M. last Saturday at Great Northern <br />Mall. Committee discussed drafting a questionnaire to be distributed to each <br />household in the city and scheduled a community workshop for September 21, 1985. <br />Additional activities include a speakers' bureau, periodic briefing papers and <br />manning a booth at the Nort~ii'Olmsted Chamber of Commerce business show in August <br />at Great Northern Mall. Urges all residents to fill out and return the questionnaire. <br />6) Law Director, Administrative Assistant Terbrack and Mayor met with RTA to discuss <br />cost of operating the bus line; both sides claim to be able to operate at the lowest <br />cost per mile. Another meeting is scheduled. <br />
