Council Agenda for 11/5/86 -9-
quite specific with respect to who in the administration is responsible to
serve on the Recreation Commission. Mr. Wilamosky asked the Law Director
for a letter of opinion on this issue and his response on Qctober 31st was,
in part, "the Mayor cannot sit as a voting member of the Recreation Commission,
either as a replacement for an absent member or by the Mayor's own right."
Mr. Wilamosky stated that he would hope, in the future, the Mayor would direct
her administration to comply with the charter with respect to who is required
to .serve as a member; is looking forward to seeing Safety Director Becker as
a voting member of the Recreation Commission and to the Mayor being there as an
interested public official. Mayor responded that the secretary and the Rec
Complex Manager have both been notified to make sure her name will not be in-
cluded on the roll call; the issue has been taken care of before this evening's
discussion.
Mr. McKay asked the Mayor to look into the facts concerning Arturo's Restaurant,
26679 Brookpark Road. They applied for a building permit; it was granted.
They applied for 12,.000 square feet; 27 of that is .taken off for storage, which
leave 9,600 square feet. There is insuffient parking to accommodate this
much space. Restaurants are required to have one seat for 150 square feet,
which means 32 parking spaces are required. They have only 10. The permit
has been approved; it is not legal.
President Saringer requested Mr. Logan, the new Chairman of the Intra-Govern-
mental Relations and Legislation Committee to review the current Rules of
Council; Chairman Logan stated he would do so.
The agenda being completed and there being no further business, President Saringer
adjourned the council meeting at 9:50 P.M.
lorence E. Campbell, C r of Council

net A. Saringer, esident of Council
.~iXRV,k!y..:e tt
