MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
SEPTEMBER 16, 1986
Present: President Dwayne Woerpel, Councilmen Lackey, McKay, O'Grady,
Rademaker, Saringer, Tallon, Wilamosky.
Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance
Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell.
Meeting was called to order by President Woerpel at 8:20 P.M., in Council
Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road.
Members of the audience were invited to loin Members of Council in reciting the
Pledge of Allegiance.
Minutes of Council Meeting of September 2, 1986, were approved.
President Woerpel informed the audience that the agenda had been changed to
add the following legislation: Ordinance No. 86-87, establishing the or~an-
ization and composition of the non-uniform personnel of the Police Department
together with salaries and various benefits for said employees, as well as
Resolution No. 86-88, a resolution commending the public service of Dwayne
R. Woerpel, President of Council.
Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) At the last council meeting, a discussion took
place with respect to the color scheme of Tony Roma's building; it was
suggested that if the colors had not been approved by the Architectural Re-
view Board, that the occupancy permit not be issued. After checking on the
colors as presented, Mayor stated they had indeed been approved by the ARB.
2) Also at the last meeting, Mr. Young complained of the height of weeds in
the CEI right-of-way. CEI did cut the weeds last year and at that time granted
residents the use of the property if the residents would keep the weeds cut
down; most of the residents agreed to do so and have been utilizing the property.
Mr. Young was one of the residents who did not sign the agreement with CEI.
Mayor contacted CEI to see if permission could still be given to Mr. Young and
forwarded all information with respect to this issue to Mr. Young.
3) Several recommendations have been received with respect to the Rec Complex
roof. The area over the swimming pool appears to be the most dangerous
problem at this time; this area has been roped off by the Recreation Director.
Temporary repairs must be made before winter; a consulting structural engineer
should be retained; estimates were given as to what the cost might be.
4) Council has received letters dealing with several parcels of land; one of
them denoted a deadline of September. Hopes the proper committee of council
will be meeting soon to make a detc>_rmination about this available land.
5) There is a vacancy on the Board of Building Code of Appeals; the term will
end in 1990. Would like to receive any recommendations to fill this position.
6) The vandalism at Coe Cemetery will cost the city $1,470; it is a shame the
- city has to pay so much for this senseless destruction.
,.
r
