MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF .NORTH OLMSTED <br />JULY 15, 1986 <br />Present: President Dwayne Woerpel, Councilmen Lackey, McKay, O'Grady, <br />Rademaker, Saringer, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Glerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Woerpel at 8:15 P.M., in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of July 1, 1986, were approved. <br />President Woerpel announced: 1) Resolution No. 86-69, commending the achieve- <br />ment of Albert J. Matousek, III, in attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, has <br />been added to tonight's agenda. <br />2) Since council will be on vacation for the month of August, a number of <br />ordinances and resolutions will be passed under suspension of rule requiring <br />three readings in order to clear the calendar. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Board of Control met on Thursday, July 3rd, to <br />consider the sealed bids for sodium aluminate; two bids were received and the <br />one from U. S. Aluminate Company was accepted in the amount of $62,940.00. <br />2) Contract was signed with Sunrise Land Company giving the city the right to <br />use land as a turn-around for city buses; the turn-around is already in use. <br />3) Monthly meeting with Dalton, Cedar Bay and Zimpro was held and the new <br />wastewater facilities are 96~ completed. Dalton does not feel the ash problem <br />is being solved. Zimpro was again requested to furnish more information about <br />the North Carolina plant.. The microscreen is being damaged due to carbon and <br />the administration has requested Dalton to reappeal to the EPA for the addition <br />of a sand filter and two auxiliary blowers to be included in the current con- <br />tract. Dalton has notified the city of an additional cost it is incurring. <br />4) Asked council to move ahead with respect to the legislation covering school <br />guard and auxiliary police pay raises. <br />5) North Olmsted has received special recognition from the Automobile Association <br />for an outstanding pedestrian program this year. <br />6) Will be submitting a recommendation to council to fill the vacancy on the <br />Board of Zoning Appeals. <br />7) A commission has been established by the 116th General .Assembly to promote <br />the celebration of the two hundredth anniversary of the Northwestern Ordinance <br />and the United States constitution, as well as the organized settlements in <br />Ohio, in 1987. and 1988. Will keep council advised of any plans for the in- <br />volvement of North Olmsted. <br /> <br />
