Feels an attempt is being made to
"'` sweep this under the carpet and he really objects.
Mr. McKay scheduled a Streets and Drainage Committee Meeting for 7 o'clock,
Thursday, March 13th and requested Mr. Noble, Mr. Gorsuch and Mr. Schaller
to be in attendance.
Mr. Wilamosky brought up the question of the potential problem relating to the
use of property at the corner of McKenzie and Lorain for the use of used
vehicles and asked if the Mayor had made any headway on this issue. Mayor Petrigac
responded that a letter had been sent to the owners of the property and they
had been given a deadline of Friday to comply; will be glad to forward copies of
all the letters regarding this problem to Mr. Wilamosky.
Mr. Wilamosky also noted that 23 street lights, between Stearns Road and Great
Northern Boulevard, were out of commission and requested that the Mayor contact
ODOT and ask them to resolve this serious situation.
Mr. Tallon discussed the recent receipt of stationery and business cards printed
for council. Reported that he did not order any business cards through the city;
had been told by the Budget and Management Director that he had not had time to
shop around for prices. Mr. Tallon called a local store, went in personally,
and in about ten or f fifteen minutes ordered his business cards at half the price
the city is paying for the other council members' cards. Stationery and envelopes
were also available at half the cost the city is paying. Requested that the Mayor
investigate and find out why the city is not looking for the best price. Mayor
promised to do so.
Mrs. Saringer mentioned that since street lighting was discussed earlier by
Mr. Wilamosky, she would like some consideration given to the lack of street
lighting between West 231st and Clague Road, on the north side. Has requested
this in the past. Perhaps it could be discussed in Finance.
Mr. Lackey reported that it had been brought to his attention that a street sign
is needed at the corner of Butternut Ridge Road and the new Great Northern
Boulevard section. Hopes the Mayor has asked for one since she was also advised
at the time.
President Woerpel announced that he has been talking with West Shore Cable TV
about having a quarterly, half-hour TV program that would bring city council
to the community in the discussion of current issues. First program will
probably air the 19th, 20th and 21st of March and cover the 1986 appropriations.
Mayor Petrigac will join President Woerpel, representing the administration,
and Chairman of the Finance Committee, Mr. Wilamosky will represent council.
The agenda being completed and there being no further business, President Woerpel
adjourned the Council Meeting at 10:25 P.M.
~.
lorence E.
