Mr, Crider indicated a need for three pieces
of equipment - three pickup truck vehicles: two for the Treatment Plant and one for
Systems. Committee intends to include funding for these vehicles within the Sewer
Treatment Plant Fund.
3) Committee also met with Parks and Recreation Director Fattler, and two members of the
Recreation Commission, to discuss the Recreation Fund, on March 11th. Thrust of the
discussion dealt with revenue projections that have recently been scaled. down by the
administration. Previous estimates of $822,000 were scaled down to $815,500, resulting
in $6,500 less in revenue. Through discussion and review, committee has determined
that there is approximately $8,900 as a carry-over in recreation. Committee primarily
discussed the areas which increased operating costs, such as, wages, benefits and
utilities. There is a variance there from the figures previously worked with. Earlier
expense analysis, by the administration, indicated .utilities to be about $12,000 less
than what is needed; committee will try to build these wage/benef it/utility expenses
into the appropriations. Committee discussed the possibility of increasing fees in
playground programs as well as in some of the baseball programs. Committee feels that
a transfer of about $69,000 will be required in meeting rising utility costs, wages
and benefits for 1987.
