In order to play Bingo where cash prizes are to be paid
out, it will be necessary to obtain a Bi~~o license from the dhio Attorney
General's office. 2. In order to obtain a Bingo license it will be necessary
that either an existing organization within the Senior Center ar a new organization
be created and obtain the necessary tax t status from the Internal Revenue
Service. 3. Shat if a new organi2aticm is created, there will be a waiting period
of two years before it will tje per~ttecl to application for a Bingo license.
4. 'That the alternative to this would be an ~gcistng organization, which has been
existence far a period of aver two years, would be the responsible organization for
the operation of the Bingo and that some of the net proceeds from the operation of
the Bingo game itself would have to go to a charitable organization, in compliance
with the State statutes.
I would be more than pleased to diseuass this with your group or any of the
groups at the Senior Center at a time ccr~rvenient for all of us.
Should you have any questior+s regarding this matter, kindly feel free to contact
me.
Yours very truly,
DONALD P .
