Council Minutes of 12/6/88 -7- <br />c. Suburban Auto Body, 4960 Dover Center Road, request to con- <br />- struct a small addition and approval of site plans. Planning Commission approved <br />on November 11th; BZA approved a variance for parking spaces on November 2nd; <br />BZD Committee concurs with Planning Commission. Mr. Tallon moved council approve <br />the Suburban Auto Body request to construct a small addition and approve site <br />plans, with the inclusion of safety barriers at the main and garage doors since <br />the building will be constructed with Dry-v it and has no protected corners, <br />second by Mr. McKay, unanimously .approved. <br />d. Hand S Distributing, 31255 Lorain Road, review of site plan. <br />This is simply the addition of two parking spaces at the rear of the building and <br />was approved by Planning Commission on November 8th. Mr. Tallon moved to approve <br />the H and S Distributing proposal, review of site plan, second by Mr. McKay, <br />unanimously approved. <br />e. Fish Furniture, 23770 Lorain Road, siding color changed to <br />Norandex beige; west wall stucco instead of siding; parking spaces two, three <br />and four are to be landbanked; approved by Planning Commission on November 8th. <br />Mr. Tallon moved the Fish Furniture proposal as described above be approved at <br />this time, second by Mr. Wilamosky, unanimously approved. <br />f. Sukora Japanese Restaurant, 26225 Great Northern Shopping <br />Plaza, proposal to renovate store front of restaurant. Heard and approved by <br />ARB on November 16th. Mr. Tallon moved council approve the proposal of Sukora <br />Japanese Restaurant as described, second by Mr. McKay, unanimously approved. <br />g. GTE Mobilnet, proposal. to install equipment on the top floor <br />of the Westbury Apartment Building; approved by Planning Commission on November <br />11th. BZD Committee concurs with the recommendation that a sound barrier or <br />some type of soundproofing material be placed against the interior wall where <br />the HVAC unit is enclosed. Mr. Tallon moved council approve the GTE Mobilnet <br />proposal as described above, and with the inclusion of a sound barrier, <br />second by Mr. McKay, unanimously approved. <br />h. St. Brendan's driveway extension. Letter from the parish was <br />received, accepting the responsibility for the street and with the inclusion of <br />a sign stating "Private Drive" which the Law Department feels will. cover. any <br />liability. Material being used for this does not meet city requirements for <br />street material but since this will be used as a private drive it is allowed. <br />Mr. Tallon moved council approve the St. Brendan request for driveway extension, <br />second by Mr. McKay, unanimously approved. <br />i. Five drive-up telephones located at Super American, 24046 <br />Lorain Road; Canterbury and Lorain, 26170 Lorain Road; McKenzie and Lorain, <br />28233 Lorain; Gas Town Station, 28925 Lorain Road; and North Olmsted Library, <br />17463 Butternut Ridge. These locations were submitted and approved by the <br />Building Department. Mr. Tallon moved council approve the five drive-up <br />phone locations as stated, second by Mr. McKay. Mr. Wilamosky pointed out <br />that the phone at the McKenzie Road site has been in operation for some time, <br />which is a violation of the city code by installing the phone without first <br />securing the necessary permit. Mr. Tallon advised that an application for <br />this phone had been made and was somehow misplaced. Roll call on Mr. Tallon's <br />motion: Affirmative vote: Bahas, Boehmer, McKay, O'Grady, Tallon. Negative <br />vote: Wilamosky. 5 Aye - 1 Nay - Motion carried. <br />Miscellaneous business: <br />Mr. Wilamosky scheduled a Finance Committee Meeting for Tuesday, December 13th, <br />at 7 P.M., to discuss tax abatement, Ordinance Nos. 88-134, 88-137 and 88-138, <br />as well as elected officials' salaries for the coming term. Members of Council, <br />Mayor Petrigac, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Boyle and Director Cunning- <br />ham were invited to be in attendance. <br /> <br />
