• <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 4, 1988 <br />Present: President Janet Saringer, Councilwoman Bahas, Councilmen <br />Boehmer, McKay, O'Grady, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell, <br />Absent: Councilman Bohlmann. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Saringer at 8:00 P.M ., in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting <br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of September 20, 1988, were approved. <br />President Saringer announced that Resolution No. 88-104 has been removed from <br />the agenda and placed back in committee; Ordinance No. 88-75 has been added <br />and will be on second reading; Ordinance Nos. 88-113 and 88-114 have been <br />added and will be on first reading. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) On September 29th, all interested parties on the <br />Cook Road water line met to go over the, contract; it was a very productive <br />procedural meeting. <br />2) Police Chief Marsh and Mayor Petrigac attended an award's breakfast on <br />September 29th at which time the City of North Olmsted received a Pedestrian <br />Safety Award. <br />3) On Friday, Mayor Clough and Mayor Petrigac will sign the agreement for the <br />Maple Ridge Project, providing the Westlake City Council has passed the <br />proper legislation at their Thursday night meeting. <br />4) Has received a copy of the service agreement for RTA NOMBL; it will be re- <br />viewed and brought to council. <br />5) The mayors of the seventeen cities involved in the Rockside Landfill methane <br />gas problem plan to meet with congressmen and state representatives within the <br />next couple of weeks. An ordinance opposing the EPA's order to have local <br />municipalities underwrite the cost of methane gas collection and/or venting <br />is on first reading .this evening. <br />6) The Olmsted Township sewer agreement was signed today and delivered to the <br />County; publicly thanked Service Director Noble and Law Director Gareau for <br />their part in negotiating a good agreement. <br />Law Director Gareau reported: 1) With respect to the Sunset Memorial law <br />suit that has been filed against the city dealing with their right to build a <br />chapel in a cemetery, Sunset Memorial took an administrative appeal from .the <br />city's adverse decision under Chapter 2506 of the Ohio Revised Code. When <br />this is done, the person appealing asks that additional evidence be submitted <br />rather than have the case submitted on the record. 99~ of the time, when this <br />has happened, the Law Director has opposed it, however, this time he is joining <br />in because some area residents believe they were not heard at the Board of <br />Zoning Appeals meeting and some council members have expressed dismay with <br />.~. <br />x„ -_, <br />i <br />
