- s <br />C <br />MINUTES OF .THE MEETING OF THE .COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />FEBRUARY 2, 1988 <br />Present: President Janet Saringer, Gouncilwoman Bahas, Councilmen.Boehmer, <br />Bohlmann, McKay, O'Grady, Tallon, Wil,amosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finanee <br />Director Edward Boyle, Acting Clerk of Council Linda Spencer. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Saringer at 8;00 P.M., in Council. <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted,. Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join.M.embers of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of January 19, 1988, were approved. <br />President Saringer announced; 1) Due to .the hospitalization of Glerk of Council, <br />Florence Campbell, Linda Spencer will be Acting Clerk of Council this evening. <br />2) Ordinance Nos. 88-18, 88-19 and 88-20 will be added to the agenda; rule re- <br />quiring three readings on .Ordinance Nos. 88~-13, 8816, 88--18, 88-19 and 88-20 <br />will be suspended. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Board of Control met to discuss bids on the heating <br />system modification at 01d Town Hall; lowest bid of .$19,985 by D. W. Prince was <br />accepted; project will take about eighteen working days to complete with a <br />starting date of February 16th. Board of Control also accepted bids for sale of <br />miscellaneous old equipment; bids were rejected for two motorcycles, which will <br />be rebid. <br />2) CIC met on Thursday, January 28th. for the 1988 Organizational Meeting; all <br />officers were reelected; there is a cash balance as of December 31st of $11,366. <br />North Olmsted School. System received a Community Education Grant; part of the grant <br />is to form a task force to generate jobs and bring business into the city. This <br />task force will consider the printing of a brochure. CIC will be contacting them <br />with the thought of making this a joint effort. CIC is also considering manning <br />a booth at the. North Olmsted business show; possibly a joint effort with the <br />Community Motivation Leadership Advisory Committee. <br />3) Last Thursday, meeting was held with the TV Advisory Board and Cablevision to <br />address residents' concerns as well as programming. Residents expressed concerns <br />about picture quality and service. Cablevision Manager responded to a1.1 questions; <br />those people who received no response will be notified by him at a later date; <br />those in attendance felt the Cablevision personnel were very responsive. <br />4) Mr. Restifo has requested that his name be withdrawn as a candidate to fill the <br />vacancy on the Architectural Review Board. <br />5) Congratulated Ms. Luci Tabbert who was recently crowned Ms. Senior Ohio. <br />Law Director Gareau reported: 1) Has filed a notice of appeal in the Romp Case <br />to the Supreme Court. Pointed out that newspaper comments stating that the <br />city was unsuccessful in this case because it did not have a Comprehensive Plan <br />are not factual and had absolutely nothing to do with the case whatsoever. <br />2) Last week, took a depostion of Barb Faughender which is in the process of being <br />typed; it will be reviewed and a determination made regarding the taking of further <br />depositions; will then proceed to file various motions. <br /> <br />
