MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />NOVEMBER 21, 1989 <br />Present: President Janet Saringer, Councilwoman Bahas, Councilmen <br />Boehmer, Bohlmann, McKay, O'Grady, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Saringer at 8:00 P.M., in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted. <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of November 8, 1989, were approved. <br />President Saringer announced: 1) Ordinance No. 88-27 has been removed from <br />tonight's agenda and placed back in committee. This is the ordinance dealing <br />with the Pheasants Walk Subdivision. <br />2) Suspension of the rule requiring three readings will be requested on Ordin- <br />ance Nos. 89-92, 89-93, 89-94 and 89-95. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Has requested that funds be appropriated to place <br />the name of Auxiliary Officer Aubrey Williams on the stone in the Memorial Garden. <br />2) Memo has been sent to Finance Committee Chairman recommending police vehicle <br />replacements covered in the transfer budget. Also, copy of a letter from NOACA <br />has been forwarded to Streets and Drainage Committee Chairman regarding policy <br />changes for pavement management. <br />3) Council has also been sent a copy of a proposed contract with ODOT for the <br />Great Northern Boulevard improvements, which include widening, reconstruction <br />and resurfacing. <br />4) Has signed a statement postponing negotiations with the Fire Department until <br />after January 20th, with a stipulation that all benefits would be retroactive to <br />January 1st, 1990. <br />5) RTA has included retired transit operators in their free lifetime RTA pass <br />program. <br />6) Attended a Council of Governments Meeting on November 15th to discuss grant <br />monies for WEB; a temporary transfer was approved. <br />7) Also discussed at the Council of Governments Meeting was the Plaza Torch Pilot <br />Plan. Chairman McKay, Environmental Control Committee, has discussed this and <br />has a brochure on the plan. <br />8) Contract has been signed for engineering for resurfacing and repair of Sunset <br />Oval. Has also signed a contract for a topigraphical survey of .the Deerfield <br />Estates in order to prepare drawings for the installation of sump pumps and to <br />pinpoint the number of basements lower than the existing storm sewers. <br />9) Has also signed for engineering services to update the USEPA Pre-Treatment <br />Program as mandated by the Ohio EPA. <br />10) Has requested an engineering study in conjunction with the 1983 SSES Study <br />to be conducted in Areas One and Three. These areas seem to be the ones con- <br />tributing the most to the I and I in the northeastern area of North Olmsted. <br />11) Ground breaking for Therm-A11, at the Industrial Park, will begin on <br />November 27th. <br /> <br />
